Some goodies from tooltopia.com so I can finally start putting that 3400 V6 back together:

I'm curious, do the beads on the "Flex-Hone" last longer than the pads on the 3 arm type honing tool? I've always used the 3 arm type, but of course they are tempramental at times, is there more lee-way with the bead type as far as staying perfectly perpendicular to the cylinder?

Boring machine correct? Nice New unit. Good buy.

We have an air driven hand held unit we use. Always called it a Whirley Screw Machine but don't know the real name. Unbelievably handy tool. We have some larger boring machines also. Vermeer Moles in 2" and 4" sizes. Used to put in natural gas and when the company shut the doors told us to keep what we had. WooHoo

Here's a few items I picked up recently. I feel like I am forgetting something else.

IMAG0452.jpg

Clean and oil/polish those Redbacks every couple of months or more. I've known enough folks that go through a pair a year from damaging where the leather meets the rubber, only because they put no maintenance into their boots. Mine are going on over 3 years now; shop work, construction in the heat and living in them every single day. I'm closer to walking through the soles than I am to the leather tearing at this point.
I hope you bought the insoles as well, if you don't have a set from a previous pair... Makes them the most comfortable piece of footwear I've ever known.

Kobalt USA ratchets 22317, 22316, 22315. Needed a set to beat on for school, and can't argue with the price. Feels exactly the same as my old Craftsmans, but I do like the shape of the handles more.

Klein 8" Diagonal cutters and 9 3/4" crimpers

And a copy of Ugly's Electrical References, since I'm going through Advanced Electrical in the Diesel Tech program, and I'm terrible at remembering electrical theory and math (Can't make it far past OHM's law, haha)

Also bought a set of the $5 Kobalt Taiwan 1/4 metric sockets. Needed a set for the school box. First non-USA tool I've bought in over 3 years (Last was my Matco Air Hammer IIRC).

EDIT: Remembered the Craftsman China flare-nut wrenches I was pissed to have bought a year ago. So yeah, that's the other non-USA stuff I own. Was not happy with that purchase.

I'll try to get some pics up later today, but I received last night from Fox Run Tools, ATD-13783 and ATD-13772. The 32 pc master hex bit socket set and 72 piece master torx socket set. Had to replace both of my previous hex bit and torx bit socket sets b/c they developed legs one day...

Anyway, I'll get some pics up soon. Initial impressions are very good, all the bore holes on the security torx are on-center and the machining of not only the sockets, but the insert bits on both sets is superb. As an added plus, all the bits are made from S2 steel. Great quality sets. Of course I was in love with my Genius torx bit socket set, so we'll see how this ATD one holds up.

added pics, not the best, taken w/phone. These cases these sets also came in appear to be pretty well made also.

This is from over the last couple of weeks and today. All from Cripe, Harry Epstein, some surplus store whose name I can't remember, Sears Outlet (hedge trimmer), Wal-Mart (the maintainer) and Ace Hardware:

Elusive???????????????????????????

Hell, unobtainable. LOLOLOL.

I've still got several hats and t-shirts around from the US Grand Prix in that Lucky Strike livery canukian.

Nice find.

And IIRC, that one is harder to find than the McLaren F1 silver/black/red unit? Correct?

Thanks! Yeah it definitely was a chore to find a new one that I didn't have to pay a kidney for. Had a couple great UK'ers helping me out so that made it easier. And it's for sure harder to get then the mclaren one. Though never cheap, I see them listed quite a bit more often than this one. Now I just have to find the Williams F1 and Grand Prix one to finish off the UK-only set(I think). Now THAT'S gonna be a project!

Nah, just the lowly 48" (was on special) wish it was the 54 though. It is quite beastly though. Makes my normal hard handle striking pry bars look like twigs, Not to mention the pittsburgh ones. haha.
