Well folks, if you want to buy some quality tools from a US company that closed its doors and laid people off, only to be saved by a new owner with a longtime relationship with the company, now is the time!

On 2/14 we will be having an Enderes Day event. I spoke with Steve O, owner of Enderes, on the phone today. His website does not support online orders at this time. He is going to create a spreadsheet/order form so that we can submit our orders. This will likely be followed up with a call to get CC info, so that you don't have to submit that data in a way you might feel insecure about.

Here is a long thread about the return of Enderes, with lots of product details and Steve himself participating.

http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204821

It's rare on GJ to have a manufacturer with us, and rarer still to have one who saved an old American brand from going to the dustbin of history and leaving a hole in a local economy. I hope as many of you as possible will consider participating in Enderes Day.

You can view their product catalog here: http://www.enderes.com/

I'm in. For sure! It's great to not only get quality tools, but to support such an effort. Steve has done us a great service by reviving this brand and company, and we should return the favor.

I thought that the website wasn't current on pricing and availability. Is he going to send out a pdf catalog, or should we trust the website?

I believe that Steve is working on a spreadhseet that will serve as an order form. It will have prices; you will be able to enter the total number of each item you want; it will show you the total cost of your items.

I have a set of their screwdrivers and punches, real GOOD quality!
Might be time for some new chisels?
LOL.....my old Montgomery Ward chisels are getting kinda stubby after 40 years of use.

I've been waiting for this so I could get some new chisels, a Torx multi screwdriver, and another 6-1 screwdriver. My wife has confiscated the orange handle 6-1 that I ordered a few weeks ago.

Their straight flute screw extractors look pretty interesting. Haven't seen anything like that design before. - Paul

If I remember correctly from the other thread, he has a ton of 15 in 1s in stock, but only in one color--orange I think. I think that we can ignore most of the website catalog's notes on availability.

I went through the catalog today, just to put together a quick list to see where I'm at money-wise before the big day. I am WAAAAAAAAAY overbudget !! :shocking:

I think I need to spend some time re-evaluating my "needs". :lol_hitti

(yeah, like that's gonna happen)

Any idea when pricing and product info will be released? I'd like to have a little time to decide what to buy if possible....

Looking forward to the event!

First of all, I want to thank everyone in advance for participating in this event and for all of your support these last months. I hope that we can make Enderes Day on the Garage Journal a good experience for everyone. Bull and I talked last week about how this would work. Normally, there is a website that you can order through. In our case the website is not currently functioning and we are in the process of rebuilding it so what I did was that I took our entire of list of catalog items and reduced it down somewhat to items that would be of interest to an individual. I could have reduced it further by eliminating some of the groups of items like farrier tools for example, but decided to leave them in. I created an excel order form that I will post on the enderes.com website. You should be able to download the spreadsheet and simply fill in the quantities of the items that you want along with your shipping information and a phone number that we can contact you to get credit card information. On the order form, it also shows a catalog page number and the .pdf of the catalog will be on the website also. There are no minimum quantities of anything. Everything on the order sheet is in stock currently with the exception of the bent tip pry bars, but we have received the new mold for the handles are just in the process of fitting the center core, so if anyone wants to order bent tip pry bars, I will just ship them when they are available. I have programmed the spreadsheet to work like an order form so it will show you the order total based on the quantitiy of items that you order. For this event, I have taken 10% off of our pricing and I will ship any order $50 or more for free. I also have some old stock 2-1 pocket screwdrivers that I will include free with every order. I may dig up a few other things that I will include free with the orders. I hope no one minds. You should be able to save the order form and email it back me at [email protected]. When we have everything ready, we will post a link here to get you back to the website. I have done everything that I can do and have left the rest up to my IT guy that is working with the website. I told him that I wanted to have everything up by Wednesday so all of you could have a chance to look over the order form. I will accept orders through the weekend (just don't tell Bull) so if you can't get your order ready to send Friday, you can have the weekend to go over things. This has been a learning experience for me but I want to show my appreciation for all of your support. You will never know how much it means to me.

Like most of our tools, our screw extractors are hex. Something that you may find interesting, unlike most owners of tool manufacturing companies, I am a tool freak like most of you. I just took it a little extreme in that I bought my own tool company. I have been buying tools for about as long as I can remember. I remember when I was about 12 waiting until the big Sears Tool Sale catalog would come out and pouring over it and then going with my dad to the big Sears store on Lake Street in Minneapolis and placing an order. My dad started his machine shop business in our back yard when I was 5 and I have worked in the business since I was about 8 years old. I have been using most of the tools in the Enderes catalog for the last 30 years. I was always the "go to" guy when it came to removing broken screws and pipes in just about anything imaginable. I always liked the straight flute design of the Enderes screw extractor, because unlike some of the "screw" type extractors, they did not screw in tighter as you tried to remove a broken screw or especially a thin pipe, which would just make the situation worse. Like any tool, there is a trick to making it work right which takes some practice but I would take an Enderes extractor over any other that I have tried any day.
For those of you that do not know, I have worked in the metal fabricating and machine shop industry for the last 48 years. We were one of Enderes vendors when they went out of business almost two years ago. Our plant was located just two blocks from the Enderes plant. We moved a few years ago to a larger location across town, but we are still only 10 minutes apart

The order form is on the website already. Under the catalog tab it says "Garage Journal Special Order Form" with a clickable link to download it. So it is up and on there. Thanks again and I'll be ordering soon!

and no one ever minds free stuff!

It is, but the catalog link just takes you to a PDF version of the order form...so there is no ability to see a more complete description of the items.

try this link: http://www.enderes.com/catalog/

Edit (this should go to the online catalog with the photos and descriptions of all the items, the other links posted are for the order form)

I think that they messed up the links. The catalog link just takes me to a pdf version of the order form. Does anybody have the actual catalog? I know that Steve emailed it to some people.

Steve, I emailed you about a couple #s from the website that are not on the list. I also need a few replacement bits/tubes so I just put them at the top of the order form.

Anyone else notice a few pricing discrepancies between the retail prices in the spreadsheet vs. the website?

For example,

12pc punch and chisel set (item 0533)

on website: $62.72
on excel list: $75.00
gj excel discount: $67.50

I'm pretty sure that that is an old/outdated online catalog and the prices have been changed. I would only use it for photos and descriptions.

I believe that the website pricing is probably 3 years old or older and should not be trusted. The website has not been maintained for years. I do have someone that is working on it now to try to make it functional again. The pricing that I have been working off of is the published price sheet dated 11/01/2011 so it is already over two years old, but I have not increased it at all up to this point

Thank you very much for the prompt reply and clearing it up. Looking forward to placing my first order with you this Friday! I will assume the GJ spreadsheet to be the source of record for correct pricing.

And a big un-thank you to GJ in general from my wife and bank accounts for this dang forum!

Here are some links that you should be able to use to download a catalog and order form

http://www.enderes.com/catalog/EnderesCatalog2014.pdf

http://www.enderes.com/catalog/GarageJournalOrderForm.xls

This is our first attempt at anything like this. If you run into any problems, let me know. You should be able to download the excel spreadsheet and edit it, then save it and email it back to me.
Make sure that you include a phone number and best time to contact you. When we have your order entered, we will call you to get your credit card information

[email protected]

I know that there have been several posts here and emails regarding discrepancies in the pricing between the sheets and the website pricing. The website pricing is not current. I don't believe that the website had been maintained for several years. The pricing here is from the Enderes price sheet dated 11/01/2011. Other than a few necessary corrections because of increases in items such as pouches, handles, etc. the pricing remains the same as it was. I have not had the time or the resources to do anything with the website until now other than to post a disclaimer on it. I do have someone working on it now so hopefully it will be functional sometime in the not too distant future.

The "Enderes Day" Garage Journal special pricing is 10% off of the retail price
I will offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more (limited to the lower 48 states)
For our Canadian customers, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, you can email me and I will see what we can do to reduce shipping costs

Steve
