Picked up this WWII era parts cabinet last night. The thing is stupidly heavy. I don't know what in it weighs so much, but its 200lbs if its an ounce.

Has a hinged door that has slides on the right. swing it open, give it a push, and it slides inside the cabinet to be out of the way.. nice.

the guy who owned it bent up a bunch of drawer dividers out of aluminum... here you can see an empty drawer, plus a few different configs with the dividers.

Very nice...love that old stuff! I almost pulled a muscle just imagining moving that thing! :spit:

I do have a question for you...after you open the door, does it slide into the cabinet? Or did you remove it for ease of use?

That is a very cool box. I have found older card file cabinets like that and never thought about bending aluminum to make little dividers like that. Now I know...

-That's great, I don't care how heavy, every garage needs one.

I've scored a small drawer cabinet off Freecycle I collect today. I hope it's half as nice.

Ahh, I just read your sig. Now I know why you need all the parts storage! Me, I just turn wrenches on my 2 vehicles and the toys. I DEFINATELY don't have room for that much parts storage!

I do!....wife doesnt agree. We are going to buy a new house soon...first I was ok with a 3 car garage...now Im looking for house with a detached garage 4+ car garage or enough space on the lot for one. She thinks im nutz.

Nice CL cabinet. Looks like it will last forever. cool door also:thumbup:
