I like the Halloween ideal, but that's too far off. 4 - 6 weeks works for me as long as that's enough time for Epsteins/SK to set up their end of it.

I would advise having it through another dealer, as the Epstein inventory of SK is VERY limited. Find a vendor with a bigger inventory, and I will buy more. So as a previous poster mentioned, Epsteins is mainly a Wright distributor, and so it never really made sense for us to double up on two US manufacturers of wrenches, sockets, etc. However things have changed, because of Garagejournal, and the internet in general. Now we are more than a local industrial distributor, and we'd like to become the place to go to buy quality US tools.

I was going to wait to see if there was enough interest in an SK day before committing to adding the entire SK line of tools to our catalog, but given the reaction so far, it looks like it is well on its way to happening. I will sit down and talk with the SK rep tomorrow and iron out the details of how we can make this happen. I appreciate you guys thinking of us, and will try to make the best effort to come up with a killer deal on SK stuff for you.

Thanks for putting this together, Bull! I'd vote for the last week of September (I can justify buying myself a birthday present or two). Probably get stubby wrenches, SAE and metric, and 1/4" semi-deep sockets. Maybe 3/8" impact semi-deeps as well.

Our GJ member "upgrading" might have the winning date and slogan, IMO. Sept. 23 Fall for SK Day. It has a great ring to it. It is more than a month away (six weeks?) which gives our SK rep time to put things together on his end, and it should give us time to save our dough. I'm afraid that waiting until October or November would be too long.

I don't know if HJE can offer prices that are better than everyone else. I don't know if our SK rep can put together huge deals/discounts, or modest ones. But, my perspective on all these days, for Epstein's, Wilde, Westling, and Enderes has been that the major component is support for USA manufacturing and business. Maybe Tooltopia has the best prices on the net, I don't know. But, are they here on GJ with us? Are they a family-owned business that has been cultivating a quality company for generations? Are they doing all they can to focus on USA products and the livelihoods of the people who make them? Do they offer free box art that you can cut out, hang on your garage wall, and anticipate your grandkids having on their garage walls as a memory of your existence fifty years from now?

I will e-mail the SK reps tomorrow with a link to this thread so they can see that right off the bat we have over 100 people saying they will participate in this for sure. I hope that number grows in the coming weeks.

You also know how beautiful their chrome is, thanks to that free wrench. I'd prefer that you select in the poll a "YES" or "NO" and not go the Switzerland route and say "maybe" as far as your participation goes.

Let's build this up and make it epic. SK did the whole Lazarus/Phoenix thing, and they are committed to keeping production in the USA.

Columbus day would be better for me (or november). Preference is individual items if possible not just sets. If they could throw us some of those facom octopus handle screwdrivers (not true sk though; not sure if they still sell them) for a killer price I probably won't be able to resist. Right now I'm not sure what else I need but would prefer (besides the facom rebrand drivers) for it to be something not rebranded.

Oh and...reasonable shipping if possible.

I talked to our SK rep and Epstein's is going to have a meeting with SK on Tuesday to try and figure out what kind of promos we can offer. So stay tuned. I will hopefully have some answers for you next week.

We do plan on adding SK's entire line of tools on our website, and will be extremely competitive with anyone else selling online. There's some exciting ideas being thrown around about promos, but I'll save any details until more things are firmed up.

This would mean that everything bought from you would also be new SK stock, correct? There are still a few places with old SK stock floating around....

Yes, this would mean that everything would be coming directly from the SK warehouse, so all new stock. We do sell some closeout SK stuff that is old stock, but that is clearly distinguished as being "closeout".

I think this is great! Any date works but I do agree with the idea that it would be better if it were more than just one day. Too many schedules and too much travel make one day or else things painful.

I'm in. I already spend a lot every labor day weekend at a big flea market in Hillsville Virginia. If it's Labor day i will still place a small order. Another day my order may be larger.

I'm curious why you think more time means significantly more participation?

You yourself will not participate merely because there are only six weeks to prepare vs. twelve, for example? Why?
