Wow that was quick !!

Are these available under other brands ?

Reversegear - From the other threads I read through, you seem like a bit of an insider. Can you recommend a gear wrench brand ??

Original Gear Wrenches are probably the best you can get. I asked about the BP ones not too long ago and the general consensus was to just get the Gear Wrench ones.

I've heard people voice the opinion; that the BP's are better quality then the GW, anyone concur with this assessment?

I can, but since my company makes ratchet wrenches any answer I give is obviously biased. And the question is a little too broad- depends on how often the tool is used and under what conditions.

Let me put it this way. If I were in the States, I'd wait for one of the big Sears Gearwrench sales and then buy everything in sight. Even the Made in China single direction wrenches. If I were a mechanic who used the tools every day, I probably wouldn't go that route.

I use them every day at work ( body shop ) . I have Mastercraft Maximum gear wrenches currently which are Gearwrench brand and Craftsman brand for sure.

I want to get a complete set like the 16 piece metric gearwrench set but I do love the feel of the Blue-Point wrenches.

Can you PM me your Professional use recommendation please !! Best bang for buck or just best

hands down... blue point wins over gearwrench... except in origional cost....but, the thing to note when buying the sets is if they are complete.... blue point is complete from 8-19 or as individuals..... you have to pay more attention to the gearwrench ones... most are missing several and then you find out they are about $12-$18 bucks each to fill out the set and end up close to same price as complete bluepoints.... just my .02 cents worth

That is a much better set than the ones you find in most stores.... I am sure you know what i am saying.... personally i have both gearwrench and blue point in my tool box.... bought the blue point as i got tired of replacing the 15 mm and 13 mm(ones i use most)

I have had the blue point for about 1 year now and had none of them fail so far..

once again .. just my 2 cents worth

Had Zero problems with my Blue-Point ratcheting wrenches, but since I'm a namewhore I traded them in for Snap-On ones and love these too.

Anyone have an idea or suspicion of who makes the Bluepoint regular wrenches? They have the rough-cast feel, like a Hazet wrench, I haven't seen another Tiawan/PRC wrench like them.

I have cman reversable ratchet wrenches and my mechanic has blue point so I've used both. The BP feel nicer and I know he is pleased with them but the head around the ratcheting end is wider and inhibits access in tight spots. Niether one of us has had one fail after moderate use in 3 years.

Yeah, that's the set I got on ebay for about $98 shipped, brand new. Some shop was looking to blow them out on some NOS from a Napa that closed.

Now are Hazet's ratcheting wrenches licensed designs, or made in part or whole by anyone at GW?

I have both BP and GW gear wrenches, neither brand has failed while using them at home and professionally but I do strongly dislike the reverse lever on the BP's so I am now sticking with S&K and GW as far as my future purchases go.

I love the reverse lever on the BP's. I originally went to sears to pick up a set of CM's or GW's, but the reverse lever felt crappy on both, and they were made in taiwan. I hit up the Snap-On truck and didn't like the price so I inquired about the BP's. They felt smooth as silk, and the price was right so I bought them. On the way home I was admiring my new wrenches, when I noticed taiwan on them. I was heartbroken, but it was too late. I've been using them for over a year now with no probs at all. I work in a cement plant, so they see some pretty dusty and dirty environments. I haven't cleaned them or lubed them at all and they're still good as new. I don't hold anything back and I'm 250#, so they are damn near bullet proof.
