i got that as well during the sale days home depot had. waiting til spring to break it out, hoping it runs as good as everyone says. i don't have a ton to cut, but i have plenty for it to run through.
This summer I built a garage gor my neighbor and exclusively used this saw. I was truly blown away by the battery life and the power. I have no real reason to use my C-man pro 7-1/4" anymore.

Today I started my Milwaukee addiction. Got a nice drill/ impact driver combo kit for christmas. This is a major upgrade from my CM 19.2V collection. Now I just need to get myself a nice 1/2" impact. And maybe a Sawzall and angle grinder sometime in the near future. Can't wait to put this stuff to use!

I don't know if anyone else has found a "solution" yet, but I've seen the "problem" mentioned in several threads without comment... the $30 flippin' magnet for the M12 stick light. I couldn't see spending that on what seems to just be a plain old magnet for my $80 light, either. I finally found a much stronger, much cheaper solution.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVGK9S4/?tag=atomicindus08-20

<$10 for 2 of them, just add a 1/4-20x1/2" flathead screw. :D Note: I've got no relation to that company or product, not pimping, just sharing.

Damn thing is almost too strong, stick it to a decent, flat steel surface and you have to yank it pretty good to remove it.

Just did this, thanks! Incidentally a 1/2" screw was too short, ideal would have been 5/8" but not available in the standard Hillman stuff (I don't have a real fastener house) so I took a few threads off a 3/4"

s so/so... I like My ingersoll Rand 20V better there but If I was buying for home I'd go with the M18 since I have the Batteries/Chargers already

Just ordered the m18 fuel hammer drill, impact driver combo and 1/2 fuel compact impact. Joined the club I guess. I have a 20v dewalt brushed hammer drill ,impact driver combo. Hoping to see a signifigant difference in power and durability. Haven't had a bit of problems with the dewalt and i like them very well so m18 will have some stiff competition. Time will tell I guess.

^ nothing wrong with tools that work for you.

2 new additions to my recent additions i didn't take pictures of.

recently got

fuel 1/2" high torque impact. as well as an m12 LED worklight (love this light). bought with a gift cert to northern tool.

also, for christmas, my GJ ss purchased this jigsaw for me (awesome). and my family heard me talking about how many copper lines i had just installed in a recent plant project, and this tubing cutter showed up via (santa), or i should say my grandma who happens to still be the best gift giver at 85 years old this year.

i'm hopin to put this cutter through it's paces, you can only grab a 1/2" and 3/8" copper line for so long with your hands trying not to mar it with pliers before you have to stop and give your mitts a break from the strain of cutting up in a lift. also hoping this thing cuts EMT relatively well also, i used my uncles cutter for a few cuts in his basement and it cut through 3/4" copper in just a few seconds which was great, very little bur left also.

P.S. this tubing cutter is huge... probably the largest m12 tool i've seen yet... i know why it has to be big, but damn, i may have slightly short hands, but i cant even touch my fingertips around the thing..

Received a few gift cards for Christmas. Went out and got this today. I'm really impressed with the amount of light it puts out.

I've had this light for nearly two months, and never realized it had a hook Incorporated in the handle.

Yep. The M12 version has the not-so-great magnet molded into it.

I hit a HD in Denver today that had seemingly every Milwaukee tool under the sun; the 2763 impact, M12 & M18 stick light, the M12 portaband, M18 Fuel bandsaw, M18 Fuel Hole Hawg, M12 PVC cutter (that thing is physically huge) and more....

I was in Denver a couple years ago, and had to stop at an HD. It was just off the interstate, a couple exits south of the arena, and that store had LOTS of tools!

Which set (model number) is that? Interested in the case.. Would the tools fit with larger batteries?

I don't have the Dewalt 20v line, so I can't say this with personal experience (although I have many cordless tools from different lines) - but I don't think you will see a tremendous difference between them.. Milwaukee has a big cult following these days for a few different reasons, and there is a lot of brand loyalty and pride of ownership that influences people's opinions - but honestly I don't think one brand will allow you to do anything more than you can do with another, unless there is a specefic tool milwaukee makes that dewalt does not. Head to head both these lines may only suffer a marginal difference between them with comparable tools, although I do belive the quality of Milwaukee is a bit superior right now.

Interesting, looks like they still call that a 2401 although it's very different in appearance from the original 2401. It got the same redesign as the 2462 (which was the 2450 hex impact) and the 2407 (which was the 2410 drill).

I used my original 2401 to install some wall anchors the other day. As much as it's limited by single speed 500rpm, I still like it for basic homeowner duties like that, and it keeps me from having to pull tools from the shop into the house for simple homeowner chores.

2401-22 is its designation. Not sure about your "original" 2401, but this one can control its speed by how much you depress the trigger.

Hey KCTyphoon:
Overall, how is that Milwaukee work light with the built in hanger? My daughter got me one for Xmas, and it has not been opened yet, cause I was afraid it would not be bright enough. Have a gift receipt to return it, but I am undecided right now. So your recommendation is going to weigh heavily on whether it is a keeper, or goes back to Home Despot.
TIA,
Jim Don

I'll offer up my input; The one pictured is actually mine. It's great. I was very apprehensive when I first got it, but was surprised at how bright it is. A very functional light. I use it a lot when working on stuff in the garage. I have an older standard Milwaukee 18v light from an earlier line of their cordless tools, and it *****. No light output, bulbs burnt out quickly, basically worthless.

So naturally when they introduced this one for the M18 line, I was a little apprehensive. If yours is the LED, it's def a keeper!

That light is pretty disappointing, if you own any of the later Milwaukee LED offerings. The M12 version is about the same light, but much smaller with a battery attached. I've got 2 of them, thanks to the light/battery $79 combo, and I'm glad they were basically free.

anyone else own the 2471 tubing cutter and try to cut various things with it?

i used mine yesterday quite a bit, had to do a bunch of conduit runs, and i figure since the blades are so cheap i won't mind one bit replacing them if i cut something harder than copper..

it zips through conduit super quick, leaving very little edge to clean up since the pressure is purely spring pressure on it. the only issue is the ratcheting tooth gearing doesn't seem to like 1/2" conduit... it's fine with 1/2" copper size, but the 1/8th inch apparently keeps it from grabbing the right tooth when putting 1/2" conduit in it. 3/4" conduit is fine in the jaws.

anybody else find similar issues with the 2471 tubing cutter?

Single speed = no selectable gearbox in this case. You can throw your car in 1 and have variable throttle sure, but you only have one gear. The 2401 still tops out at 500rpm no matter how you cut it. The -22 indicates you got a kit w 2 batteries.

Has anyone reviewed the M12 vs M12 Fuel hackzall?

I had the original and was underwhelmed, but maybe I was expecting too much.

Thinking about picking up the Fuel 7 1/4" Saw.

Anyone know if you can purchase the storage bag separately without buying the whole kit.

Thanks for your help.

You are mistaken, and perhaps did not read my response.

That, in fact, IS the LED M18 light. And is arguably the best Milwaukee cordless tool-kit light they've offered to date. It may not be a better light than some of the recent multi-LED lamps (in the $80-$100 range) they've offered, but I'm referring to the tool-kit lights... this one is far superior than all of it's non-LED predecessors.

Ok, that makers more sense. I thought you were saying it went from being off, to full speed ahead at 500rpm.

I don't know if you can buy it retail, but there's lots of them on ebay, reasonably priced. Hell, I may even have one I'd part with. Not sure how big the 7-1/4" saw needs, though. I've got the smaller M18 circ saw... I believe it's 6-1/2"?

I am not mistaken. I own 2 of those, as well as every other LED they offer. Your opinion is yours, mine is mine. I did not reply to your post. Why do people on here get so ****-hurt when someone else doesn't feel exactly the way they do about something? Get over yourself.
