Saves 30% off suggested retail price on top quality USA-made Thorogood boots.

About the same quality and fit as those familiar with Georgia Boot and Carolina Boots as well. Some say they are the best in the business, and fit similar to Red Wing sizes.

There are threads for boot recommendations on here and elsewhere. My friend purchased a "wedge" style for hipster office wear and swears by the quality and comfort. I did my research and purchased a pair of the dual comfort outsole in 6" size, model 804-4203 for the safety toe version for rugged use.

Lowest price I've seen for this brand of boots.

I have that same boot, best I've ever had. I have a narrow foot and they come in "B" widths.

I have two pair I alternate, you would be surprised the difference it makes if you are on your feet a lot.

Great boots been wearing my first pair for well over 2 years now daily.
Only issue of recent is the grommets have a burr now and then and chew up the laces.
If you belong to a union look at their page you can get a lifetime code for 30% off MSRP.

Every few months you can find a 25% off coupon for galls.com. I purchased a pair of $300 dollar danners for 225 last November this way. I've never worn thorogoods but I can recommend danners to anyone needing new boots. I believe thorogood is like many other brands in that they have an imported line and a domestic line.

Thorogood is made by the Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Wisconsin. Didn't know they had an import line until I saw the $130-range ones listed on another site. All of the others, Georgia, Carolina, Red Wing, etc, have import lines. I tend to look for the USA-made stuff when possible. :)

I'm a Union member I signed up a while back and I believe they gave me a 30% code that would last for a day or 2 and then regular code they sent me for whenever was 27%.

Anyways you guys missed out Amazon ran a promo for weeks its was 20% first and then it might of been 25% but during BF, Cyber Monday and then a week or 2 after all that it was 30%.

I paid $136.46 on Amazon for these 8" Safety Toe plus it even got better. My chase card was giving 5% during Q4 on Amazon and then Ebates had 8% Cashback as well for Amazon clothing or whatever it was. Total cost was about $119 each. Bought 3 pairs going to start rotating them each day should last me a long time. Also ordered the Moc Safety and Moc Toe but they don't make 3E width in my size and those are tight I might just keep 1 of those for the hell of it see if they stretch a little.

These were $118.08 during that time 8" Moc Safety $103 after Chase/Ebates CB

These were $111.99 8" Moc Toe $97 Final

Lastly I got these $195.99 Chippewa Men's Super Logger Waterproof Insulated $170 Final. These are going back will try them on again in the house for 15-20 mins but just didn't like the Logger Heel.

My last boots were Redwings 2406 American made Redwings boots never again. They took forever to break in and left me with scars still today 2.5 years later they are fading but still got them. During that time I probably only had about 1 year of use from them just started to fall apart the sole was gone and everything.

The Thorogoods 804-4204 got to be the best fitting boot I've had. Break in was not needed they fit good from the 1st day but after a few days they were awesome. Few weeks later my feet finally don't hurt when I get home. The best part is the opening for your foot you have so much room you can just untie the boot and just step out of it. The Moc toes I linked you can't do that with those. Glad I'm set for the next few year's.

Danner's are nice I got a pair of the Quarry Line but was closeout since they were the China made ones now they are USA made but those are Tanks and are heavy. If you need something to last try those out.

I had a pair of danner quarry (china) and they lasted almost 5 years. The soles didnt last long and the inner liner tore up like no other. I just got a pair of moc toe carolinas for christmas, they are amazing. Like house slippers with tons of support. Took about a week to ten days to break in.

A lot cheaper than Chippewa or Carolina...Quality the same?

Supposedly better as reported in reviews of people who own several brands. These will be my first. Chippewa may have less durable exteriors from what I've read and seen on YouTube reviews.

How are the size of the toe boxes in the steel toe versions? I have really wide feet and some companies seem to use the same steel toe regardless of boot width (at least it seems that way). Best one's I've found are red wing 'King Toe' models but those are all imports.

Can someone tell me how Thorough good boots fit? Do they run small or long? Is their width sizing accurate. I want a pair, but I'd like to try and get the sizing right the first time.

Boots fit differently from athletic shoes. Best to try a local store for similar types. My boot size is 1/2 size smaller than my tennis shoe size.

I found a really good deal through Sears about a year ago for some made in the USA Thorogood boots with steel toes. I ordered them on the web sight unseen and they have worked out very well. I ordered the same size as my other shoes and they fit great. Cost was $120 which I thought was a steal.

I don't wear work boots for paying work, but I wear them a lot when working around the house or on my converted bus.

Just ordered a pair of moc toes. Been wanting them and will return the Diehards I just bought over the weekend. They were on sale for $50, but I just don't seem right.

I started buying Thorogoods after Red Wing went to ****. I swore by RW's 963 until my $260.00 pairs of "Made in the USA w/imported Products" soles would split on the balls of each foot after just a few months of wearing them.

I bought a pair of the Comfort series (814-4550) about a year ago. I have only a minor complaint. I've worn a 10D forever, and it seems that in Thorogood boots I either need a 10.5D or a 10EE. Not sure, but not a biggy as these boots are just a little more snug than the RW's were.

That being said, this 30% off is for RETAIL price, and if you choose their "perfect fit option you are going to pay twice for shipping basically. You only save $10.00-$20.00 compared to other sites.

(I'm only putting this up so other people don't have to go all the way to checkout to find the final price)

It's a good deal, but if you buy through Amazon shipping is free both ways if you need to return, and get a different size.

Thanks for posting!

I just got my 6" moc toes. My goodness, the most comfortable shoe I've put on right out of the box. They feel great. I tried to kid myself by getting a pair of Sears Diehards when they went on sale. Not even close. Highly recommend these boots.

Wait a few days after they break in your not going to take them off. They are one of the best boots out of the box. I've been using Obenauf's heavy duty LP and the Leather Oil on mine the Leather Oil did darken them up a few shades but I didn't care they are work boot's.

Got mine today (UPS truck got delayed so no Friday delivery, had to wait until today). Wearing them now. Amazing quality, never seen anything comparable! Definitely pleased with them.

They run these discounts at pretty much all the American holidays: Memorial Day, Independence
Day.

Just a heads-up if anyone's coming off Christmas buying time and don't really want to buy new boots right now. I have 2 pr of Thorogood steel toes, by far the best boots I've ever owned. They beat the brakes off the Redwings. I've had. I doubt I'll ever buy another brand as long as they don't change anything

Bleh, Diehards. I purchased a pair for what I thought at the time was stupid cheap money figuring they'd at least be semi-decent. $50 shipped with a sale and coupon. Tried them for ONE day, shelved them, and ultimately gave them away. Those boots had all the comfort of plywood, as if i'd strapped pieces straight to my feet. It was truly amazing how bad they were.

My composite toe Thorogoods arrived today. Need to oil them before I wear them (to waterproof) but will report back. Going to be replacing a 18mo pair of Carolinas which I really haven't been all that happy with. For ~$150 they look decent and a big bonus that they're made here. By comparison the Carolinas were around $220.

Some fast comparison shots to a new pair of Chippewa. Nothing against the Thorogoods but you can see why the Chippewa cost a few bucks more (beefier material, most notable around the lining and collar, more stitching, and Vibram soles).

I bought a pair of Thorogood steel toes in September 2013. Started wearing them in October or November everyday to work. They were great for a while -- a good fit and seemingly tough. But 6 months in, holes between the sole and the lower part of the leather started to open up. I contacted Thorogood and sent pictures. The best they could tell me was a half assed 'send them in and we'll look at them and let you know something in 2-3 weeks'. Might as well buy another pair of work boots, right?

So I did. Definitely NOT Thorogoods. Maybe they're okay for light duty stuff, but don't wear them as a mechanic (I'm not even a jobsite worker!). They're junk. I thought maybe it was a fluke when the first hole opened up. But there are holes in both shoes in multiple places. The leather is cheap, and I really wonder about the workmanship. I ended up being able to wear them about 11 months before the air draft on my feet started to bother me.

Proceed with caution. They've got a cheap price tag for a reason.

Did they ever take care of it?

I've had those Chippewas for some time and they are the most comfortable boots I ever slipped on.

I had to replace the laces as one of the metal guides was rubbing them.

I also replaced the inner soles not long after as they became loose so I replaced them with gel insoles. Overall pleased with Chippewa..

Only bad thing with Chippewa is make sure you buy the USA made ones they have the USA Flag on the website so you can tell plus I'm sure the price difference compared to the China made ones they have.

I'm Carpenter and beat up boots pretty bad and mine are fine so far. That was doing 2 complete demos on jobs and then doing the build out on both jobs. I have a few dings and a slice on one boot but that was from kicking trash with my boots and hoping in and out of a dumpster and I just didn't care much since I got 2 more pairs ready to go.

I would say if you need a beefy boot check Chippewa out and Danner's . If you need a Mid to Light duty boot Thorogoods are good. I'm also wearing one of the higher priced Thorogood though they are 804-4204

Iuno I've never had a problem with my pairs, my Moc toes are on their second set of soles now, I resoled them with Vibram Christy's this time around, but the original Max-Wear was actually much more wear resistant and better than the Vibram's suprisingly.

Certainly seem a little different. How much more in price are we talking?

The Thorogoods were $152 and change during this sale, the Chippewa were $186 after a $50 coupon.

^^^ what model are those Chippewa? I've been wanting a pair for a while and those look nice!

Same, I purchased my first pair at clearance pricing from some fly by night website and they were/are awesomely comfortable. I was kicking myself for not getting more than 1 pair, I think they were dumping them for around $100 at the time. I still have them, I just need to re-oil them and replace the laces and insole which fell apart after being abused for a couple years.

They'll have a little USA flag pendant on the laces as well. I wouldn't support the Chinese models of those companies (Chippewa, Redwing, Danner etc...). There are enough choices for imported boots already without boosting their confidence in their import line when they still make products domestically.

I have never needed to resole some boots, what was your cost (both sole and labor)?
