I searched and didn't see a similar thread, apologies if I missed it.
I just recently got my bench assembled and situated and installed pegboard and magnetic tool holders above, and wanted to see everyone's. I'm still moving back in at the moment, but don't plan to add anything else. The great thing about pegboard is you can move stuff around over time to suit your needs. So please give me some ideas and share your pegboard layout with everyone. Thanks!

I have several in different locations in the garage. Soon, I'll rearrange it all to accomodate the way it should be set up. PPP on my part (Piss Poor Planning)

Funny-today Im in the process of adding some pegboard.
IMG_1898o.jpg
Wall behind drill press open. One of the few areas not covered, store poles handles etc there as there is a channle at base that holds them. Out of the way but invariably tops slide over so they are all standing leaning against back wall behind cabinet. To retriev something usually means pulling it all out.

IMG_1899o.JPG
Something I should have addressed before putting the cabinet in place (and why its been waiting 4 years). Despite picture theres 4" between but still going to be 'fun" getting some cleating to secure pegboard.

IMG_1900o.JPG
Reworking some prefab cabinets added to Margarets laundry room, I used some pre-primed pegboard. Mostly to 'vent' the added slide out hamper, used on its door to lighten.

Also the main door. Pretty dense particle board it weighed a ton. Cut out the raised routed in panels, replaced with the pegboard. Rotated 45° so it didnt quite look like pegboard. Door seriously lighter and does let the cabinet breath.

Though I would have used raw pegboard in the shop- since I have a piece of leftover (free) white pegboard, I guess worth the wait plus should help with light in that corner.

I'm just getting the shop set up but I put peg board all the way around. I got a great deal on it from someone who had purchased it for a project they never got to. I like it so far and really like the way it seems to deaden the sound.

Yes it can. I'm trying to condense 4 garages down to 2. It's been a bit overwhelming.
Long way to go.

Has anyone found a decent way to hang open end wrenches on pegboard?

I have a few large open end wrenches on pegboard. I am happy with wallpeg brand pegs. They don't come out unless you really pull.

I did find out recently that they have two diameters of pegs. They do not say that on their site. I ordered a peg kit, this is the second time i have ordered, and they were real loose. I called and they told me 1/4" pegs are sold with the plastic pegboard kits. I orderd pegs only and received something around .200" diameter pegs. So I wasted $9 to send them back and they sent me the 1/4" size I wanted. Make sure you order by phone and specify 1/4", if using with 1/4" pegboard.

I have pegboard in the past, but the hooks and things kept coming out of the pegboard which I found to be very annoying. How do you guys keep the hooks and things from coming out, or do you just life with it? Thanks

For my double open end wrenches, I use the wrench holders like the 2x you have (lower left corner, black w/ handle).

I have tried to use the "pincher" style ones from wallpegstore, but haven't grown to like them much.. yet..

Mine are not the pitchers for the open end. I have 3 j hooks holding each wrench.

I have the pincher ones on the Ullman picks. They are in the corner under the heater. I like them for the picks and miniature screwdrivers

Agree with this ^^^ I have the Wallpeg stuff and it is not easy to get in sometimes but they never fall out.

I "wallpapered" mine with an old mechanical engineering book. Still adding tools to it and cleaning up so excuse the mess.

Hi Alan, Yes...I use them similarly.. the pincher style works for scissors, picks, screwdrivers, files, and other things too. My suggestion was to try them for double open ends.. They work but are a little "clunky".. First picture are my open end wrenches in "handle style" holders. Second picture is one of my tappet wrenches in one of those pincher holders. It works, but hangs a bit funny..

I see you're use of J hooks for the larger double opens.. I've done something similar on the old wrenches on the front of my garage workbench..

All of the above work for the double opens..
