Just to let you guys know, my dad used these plans and parts from TiP (now TP) to build his blast cabinet decades ago. It still works great!

If you are posting on this thread ("A Real Blast Cabinet") and would like a Free Set of Plans to build your own cabinet, we can supply the following FREE OF CHARGE and we will send by First Class Mail the same day:

Offer was to expire on 6/30/2015, but has now been extended!
I am extending this offer through 9/30/20015! (Per Fred). Here is how to get your free set of plans to build your own cabinet:
PHONE: This can be done by calling TP Tools at 800-321-9260 between 8 AM and 4:30 PM weekdays and asking for either of our two Office Managers, who are aware of this offer. Give your name used on this site for reference, along with your mailing address. They will check to be sure you are currently posting on this thread. If not yet posting, go ahead and do so before calling. All the above will be sent via 1st Class Mail the same day at no charge - U.S. & Canada only.
EMAIL: Since offer is at no charge, you can also order by email by sending your information with your request to: info@tptools dot com * Our actual email address not posted to minimize spam - you can figure it out however. Sorry no export other than to Canada.
*Note: Don't forget to include your mailing address, as Plans are in Booklet Form and are mailed via USPS. Plans are free and postage is free for all Garage Journal Members until 9/30/2015.
The only thing that site lacks for those "free plans" is a request for a DNA sample. Utterly obnoxious.
Put a PayPal "buy it now" button and I might consider.

Hey guys, just want to thank you on helping me make a decision on which brand blast cabinet I should buy.
Just ordered the 970 today, Order #:W150463 for those who might be getting that ready to ship for me
I am a small startup doing mostly porting/polishing and custom turbos but lately have been getting tons of ceramic coating and powder coating work coming through. The cheap HF did ok for a month but I have nearly doubled the price by modding it to work lol. Short story is that in order to make money you need to make small investments. I'm tired of messing with cheap stuff that doesn't work...
Looking forward to the years of use I'll get out of this.
Thanks TP Tools and TGJ folk

Excellent free offer!! I think I will give it a try also. Thanks

Its too bad Skat blast doesnt have an upgrade sale occasionally. I would probably trade mine in and get the next size up from mine. I could use a bigger one than I have. But I would never get anything other than skat blast.
Next time you are in our store, bring a picture of your older Skat Blast Cabinet and maybe we can work out an upgrade trade (provided your cabinet is in decent condition for resale with a minimum amount of refurbishing). Sometimes we have slightly damaged freight cabinets that are discounted, but only available for store pickup so that the damage (usually scratches) can be seen prior to purchase. If you do stop in, be sure to tell store salesman that I mentioned this on the "The Garage Journal" to get the best deal

Sorry about our restrictions - we are sincerely trying to help Garage Journal members and will sure always continue to do so in every way that we can, but cannot open it up to the world at no charge. I agree that a "Get it Free Button" seems like a great idea if we had a way of confining it to the GJ members.
Thanks to all of the kind replies and comments on this forum that have been so nice regarding this offer. I have shown all of these thread replies to our 15 employees, who have really taken to this project - mailing the plans the same or next day. They didn't know about Garage Journal a few months ago, but they sure do now!
I am currently trying to figure out a way to do some type of advertising on this forum, as it sure is a lively and friendly group and very active. THANKS GARAGE JOURNAL.

All models of Skat Blast Cabinets are ready to ship and you will get years of use - that's for sure. Did you know that if you bought the very first Skat Blast cabinet made by Skat Blast in 1978 and needed parts, these parts are "in stock" and can be shipped the same day? Compare that to what we are dealing with today with Chinese imports!

So Cal Porting - We are sure sorry about your experience, and we will be able to take care of this today. When we ship the cabinet, the power gun has a steel nozzle, which is used for testing. We use a steel nozzle for purposes of testing (we test 100 out of 100 guns before they leave here). So rather than removing the steel nozzle, we give it to the customer, but include our standard ceramic nozzles, which are usually fine for most applications using Skat Magic or Glass Beads. Evidently you are using the ceramic nozzles that were included with your cabinet, which are our standard 1/2" outside diameter nozzles. These are perfect for most home use with low air supply (5 HP), but if you are using commercially with a larger air supply, you may want to move up to a larger setup, which we have in stock and can ship today.
Using Skat Magic or Glass Beads at 80 psi should get you around 4-5 hours with our standard ceramic nozzles. If you are using Aluminum Oxide or Silicon Carbide (or other aggressive abrasives), using the same power gun, we recommend a Carbide Nozzles (also 1/2" outside diameter - our Part No. 6300-90) which will give somewhat extended longer life.
However if you are removing ceramic coating and have a larger air supply, you may need an even better and larger nozzle/air jet setup. For this type of application, we offer larger nozzles (also carbide) with a larger power head for commercial/industrial applications. These require a larger air supply (25 cfm or more for one type - our Part No. 6300-91, and 40 cfm or more for a Super-Production Cabinet Gun - our Part No. 6318-30). These are described in our current catalog on page 38, or at www.tptools.com If you do not have a current catalog, please call or email and we will send via 1st class mail today (also to others on this forum by request). Call 1-800-321-9260, or email to [email protected]
We use the 6318-30 nozzle and power head on a Skat Blast cabinet used in our shop for heavy-duty jobs with good results. The reason that we do not include the larger setups is that probably 90% of our customers have an air supply of a 5 HP 2-stage compressor, which will not work on the larger nozzle/air jet setups.
For more information, please call Carmen or Rich at 1-800-321-9260 between 10 AM and 6 PM Eastern Time today. Both Carmen and Rich have been with us for over 20 years and will get you going quickly. I just talked to Rich and instructed him to extend a 10% discount on any carbide nozzle with free shipping, so be sure to ask for either Rich or Carmen only. We want to keep you (and all our customers) happy!
Fred
Thanks for the extension on the plans offer. Looks like a good project for my son and I.![]()
Pity its U.S and Canada only![]()
Hello and thanks for your comment. If you care to do so, please send an email to [email protected] , mentioning your request and asking that your email be printed and put on FRED'S DESK for me to handle on Monday. Also in your request, give us your Garage Journal User Name and ask for an email confirmation by return email that we received your request. Be sure to send your complete name, good complete mailing address and your email address, as we put this into our computer, and need all of that info to do so. I have the plan pages saved at home, and while I am not sure I can do so, am in hopes that I can send the plans to you via email. (No guarantee, but I will try). Sometimes I can make things happen!

Any current Discounts on the 960-DLX package? Need to pull the trigger on an order, but wanted to see if there were any anticipated savings?
