I assume they are made by WF since Ideal owns both companies. I'm not crazy about the handle, but wanted something that was decent and easy to replace/warrantee.

DSM the more you look at ratchets the more of those you'll see. That's the std 72 tooth Taiwan action lots and lots of companies opt for because it flat out works. It's smoothe,tight and strong and obviously real affordable to produce.You can take the guts from EZ and Tekton,Titan and many others and toss them from frame to frame since they're all the same. Brilliant production strategy.

I needed a set of hemostats for a project I am working on, so I went to Harbor Freight to get some. I came out with a little more than I went in for, lol.
I have been meaning to get the 1/2" impact set for a while. I had a coupon for $19.95, so I figured why not. I just tore up a craftsman chrome socket last week with my impact gun, so I used that as motivation to buy actual impact sockets. These have pretty good reviews, and I probably won't use them too often, so what the heck.
I was also planning on getting a set of 1/4 deep well sockets from sears, but all they had was chinese sets. I figure if I am buying chinese, I might as well get HF. So I got them too.
And some more rails, lol.

Have not posted in here in a while but here is some stuff I have added over the past week or two.
Picked up this Harbor Freight 5 drawer cart for $60 in a nearby craigslist, top has some paint on it but overall great shape. Going to hold mainly my abrasives, air sanders on top, and some of my bodywork/fiberglass stuff.

Have went a little Milwaukee crazy with home depots 150 off deal. Picked up a heated hoodie (not shown), hackzall bare tool, 3/8 ratchet bare tool, the drill/hackzall combo kit they had as a hot deal plus the 150 off deal, and the high torque 1/2 inch impact. Already had a battery or two.
Also in the picture off to the right a magnetic tray I got for free after using a sears 10 off 10 syw promo.

Tekton metric 3/8 crowsfoot set, pick set, roll pin punch set, and snap ring pliers set. Also got another universal oil filter wrench set this time the strap version.

Picked up a "few" rolls of paper towels at home depot during their clearance. Was lucky and found 2 cases up in the rafters in addition to the few packs on the floor.

Picked up this DynaGlow propane heater heater. 30-60k btu with built in fan. pretty happy so far and puts out exactly the amout of heat I was looking for.
Also not pictured but picked up a dewalt 20v led light when one of the hardware stores was running a 50% off promo that home depot matched.

Wow those are cool. I've got a Capri set but I might have to spring for that set as well if I end up keeping my VW (Volkswagen doesn't buy it back). Only issue there is it stops at 16mm instead of 18mm but I couldn't imagine such a large fastener would be in a really limited access position.

Yeah, I was kinda bummed about the missing 18mm as well but had the same logic as you about the size. I really like the fact that you can use a wrench instead of a ratchet for super tight areas
On another note, why do you want to get rid of your VW? Is it part of the whole TDI scandal? I had an AHU Mk3 that would still be around if I didn't get hit head on by a lady that lost control of her truck. Was in the process of putting tons of NOS parts on her to make it a super original, and clean TDI. Car ran flawlessly, and fun with bigger injector nozzles.

You can add Kobalt and the new HF quick release ratchets to that list.

Yep, it's a 2010 TDI with the CJAA engine. It's the 1st gen which most people are expecting a buy back on beacuse of the cost of fitting a DEF tank, lines/heater and def injection system. I kinda wish they would hurry up though because my windshield is broken, it has a glow plug pressure sensor that's intermittent, and is due for the timing belt/water pump in a few K more miles. If I knew for sure they weren't going to buy it back I'd start on the maintenence but I'd like to avoid dumping 1500$ into a car that will be bought back and destroyed or refurbed and sent to another country anyway.
I do really like the car though. I'm kinda hoping they do a buyback with incentive and I'll just grab a newer TDI if they ever are able to legally sell them.

Nice hammers. Got my hammers 1 hour after I actually paid. Nice but the shipping cost is pretty high ($14 for 4 hammers to go from Indy to Chicago). Used mine today knocking a workbench post into alignment

M18 is only used for wheel hub bolts, and the only M18 VW genuine tool is 3/4" drive. (I have one, it's huge.) M16 is used for gearbox sump plugs and brake carriers on Touaregs/Q7s. Even M14 isn't used much, you're not losing anything by not having the M18.

Good point, this set is only 1/4" and 3/8" drive and they are slimmed down big time so breaking something loose with a slim m18 might not work so great. They also aren't tamper proof.

SO low profile metric sockets. 10-19mm 12 point.
Comparison shot. The 14mm is smaller than the 9/16 1/4 drive.
First thing I noticed is the square drive protrudes into the driven end. The 16mm is gonna get a work out doing starters.

I will have to admit that is a nice ratchet.
I hate you. Brand new ones are ~ $60 and I can never find them in stock for that price. That ratchet has been on my wishlist for 5 months.

I responded to an ad on CL for a 10-994, 11-994 and a 12-973 (1/2 drive long handle non flex, 36t) all new for $90. Sold the 1/4 and 1/2 for $60 about 45 minutes later lol. The guy told me they were 60t, the 1/4 was but didn't count this til a little bit ago, and it's 88. I've wanted one for a while and was also deterred by high cost. Just got lucky.
