After I looked at this thread, I started buying these. I need to kick this habit before it gets out of hand.

These fellas were peeking out of a tote at the flea market yesterday, so for $6 I brought them, two Dunlap DOEs and two wooden file handles home. These guys have good chrome and a nice ring to them. Wonder what age they may be within the 1937-50s range, and if J.P.Danielson (LC) or Moore Drop Forge (V) made them for Sears. The combination of forged-in letter codes on them makes me wonder - a V (or Y?) on the smallest, a V on the largest, a B on the middle one, and then an LC on both the smallest and middle one, but not on the largest. I'm leaning toward JPD, so maybe the B and Vs have to do with manufacture dates or something else.
Does anyone actually collect Dunlap, or is there just so much Craftsman out there that no one bothers?

So if you put them together you get BVDs? Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm not sure who made those off hand.

Some cool wrenches in there, B-nut. I especially like the NoneBetter and the long C Craftsman DBEs. Also, "out of hand" is a phrase spouses and significant others use. It's a relative term. :)

After a long dry spell, I finally scored on an Ebay wrench auction. I had to buy a lot DOEs in the mix as well as some foreign brands to get these. Not a huge win, but did add some sizes I don't currently have.

I'll come back and edit in the makes and sizes once I recharge my phone.
-----------------------------------------
Made to the computer instead.

Proto 1122 angled, 7/16" x 3/8"
Superrench 6723 offset, 7/16" x 3/8" (I've got a 7723, but not a 6723)
Non-name (Indestro brand I think) deep offset, 7/16" x 3/8"
Metco offset, 7/16" x 3/8"
Billing straight, 7/16" x 3/8"
Dunlap deep offset, 11/16" x 5/8"
Dunlap deep offset, 25/32" x 3/4"
Dunlap deep offset, 7/8" x 13/16"

LesserSon, these are the same three Dunlap wrenches you found! I'll have to check them out for cast in codes later this week.

Those remind me of Vlchek without going to look.

Oops I meant Lectrolite. Good thing I got up off my **** and looked.

What are your thoughts on that wrench 3bay? I have a couple but you really don't see many Wilde marked wrenches. They are exactly like Truth wrenches, which are also rare as hen's teeth.

I haven't been able to figure out who made what for whom......Truth for Wilde, Wilde for Truth, or someone else for both.

Here's the one Wilde DBE that I own. Opening sizes are 3/4" x 11/16" in the long pattern deep offset.
I've never seen a TRUTH DBE.

Twertsy- Not sure what to make of this.

I took a look at the moon wrenches on your site and they look very much alike.

Username - Nice wrench, same sizes too. Also looks like the Truth DBE on the site.

Twertsy. not to get off topic but I have some items I would like to upload to the site, including a Wilde ratchet.

Hunh. One of those Wilde shorties came in a small mixed lot I purchased on eBay for a couple of combination wrenches. Three HeXo (Blackhawk) shorties too, but they are too crusty for a photoshoot right now.

I actually have a little Dunlap collection going that started with a $2.00 toolbox. The tools keep showing up at my house!

I'm trying to be sorry, but failing.
Here is an old Walden I picked up some time back. Any opinions on how old it might be?

Not sure but thinking 30s. I'm back at the Smithsonian today but I don't think I've asked for them to pull Walden yet.

rounded these up over the last couple of weeks and ill say ive passed on as much as i bought. they are everywhere around here for pennies, but never the ones im looking for.

never seen a plvmb marked los Angeles
have no clue what the one is on the left. it has a part number. the bends look like it came that way? no heat marks from torch.

one tiny that is 12pt and a square drive. its a sharp looking wrench. looks every bit of snap on but not one mark on it. could have it been a factory or government issue?

Stage: a really nice selection! The double square DBE may be a torque wrench extender. I've got something like that for a Chrysler transmission.

i have one of those LOL. its a male female 3/8 deal so you can adjust the band in the transmissions. im not sure on the years it fits.

the double square i do not believe is 3/8 drive. ill have to check it in the morning. may be for gas bottles or valves

Do you mind if I ask what the second wrench down on the left picture is? Right below the square wrench? It looks like it might be Barcalo or Vlchek. Thanks!

Big shipment of wrenches came in today, and several new brands for the collection. I had to buy some DOEs and combos, but even those are a little interesting.

Thanks. If it had been a Barcalo I might have tried to talk you out of it.
-Don

Speaking of Barcalo - I've already replaced the one I sent you a few months ago. Also added a few more. I need to get some pix posted ...

BTW - 5 posts in 5 days?!? You might have a problem!

Finally got around to pulling out some of my DBE wrenches to post. This made me realize how much of a mess my shop is, but that makes it a little bit like Christmas every time I find something that I forgot about.20161001_194937.jpg20161001_194917.jpg20161001_194810.jpg20161001_194747.jpg20161001_194725.jpg
