Anybody ever seen one of these before? Is it a real tool or a key chain accessory? I use it as a key chain accessory, found it at the swap meet last week in a pile of junk. Pretty neat in my book.

Since it's in somewhat of a fish shape, I'm guessing it's a wrench for a trolling reel.

It's an E3 ignition wrench for Eisemann components, probably 1930-40s. There was one on eBay listed with some reel tools. I tried to correct the seller. Bonney sold a no18 kit which had similar size tools each for a different style ignition. Other tool companies had very similar tools and kits.
Here's my Bonney find today, which I left in the antiques store because it was priced $24.

Bought some unusual Bonney goodies today at the flea. I haven't had a chance to look them up yet, but I think they're distributor wrenches? :dunno:
I live in SouthWest Ohio and these are all engraved G.E., which still has a large presence in the area.
The Bonney 1165 combo is a duplicate, so if anyone needs it, lemme know.
The oddball wrenches are all marked, in no particular order...
X4326; X4021; X4019; X4002A; X4000; X4001; X4035 which has the X4004 sq. socket attached.

Sure looks like some of those are modular offset attachments for a single handle.

That's a neat Bonney hammer. Not sure I could have passed on that. Here is a newer brass hammer I found at a flea market this winter. It was the only tool on a table full of glass. I think it was $12. Ed.

Username - those are some really neat wrenches. I don't think I've seen anything like the ones with a square hole in the center or the one with the tab and square socket coming off of it.

Would you mind taking a top view picture of those three with the square in the middle?

Hey 3bay. That Zenel ratchet is awesome! It looks to be sealed/not serviceable.
Sorry for the delay. Here's a pic of those 3 wrenches for you.
The square drive is 3/8". These look to be some type of line/obstruction wrench.

Thanks  Very cool. They look like they were for use as torque adapters. Never seen anything like that with a handle off the end and sq. in the middle. That whole bunch is very unique indeed. I wonder if they are aviation. A couple resemble the PWA stuff. Also, not in the old catalog I have.

Yes, the Zenel ratchet is riveted. I oiled through the hole on top and it works great!

Rounded up a few round heads with a Vlchek 3/8 in there, and the Dayton twin to the 1/4 Bonney.

Bonney 1/2" A703, A700

Vlchek 3/8" 2800

Bonney 1/4" V701, Dayton 1/4" no part #

Finally got back to the combo with a twist. 17" long, both ends 5/8". Marked Bonney USA 2640 on one side and Not Guaranteed on the other.
Edit - now here's a 2641 with 11/16" openings, otherwise identical:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/112161949582
Finally found them on page 71 of the 1950 catalog. They are for reaching bolts on the crankshaft-to-transmission coupling. AND THEN, found a 2641 the NEXT DAY at my favorite flea market! So here’s side-by-sides.
Also picked up a No.003 round shank screwdriver. What's the vintage on this style, Username? Late 1930s? Early 1940s?
And a LocRite 1/2" short combo.

Always liked those tapered handled Bonney's. I have a 3/8" flex in that style.

I have a 3/8" T-702K and a 1/4" V-702K for sale over in the classified section and someone asked (pm'd me) asking when they were made. I don't know a lot about how to date these. They are nice ratchets - I love the sound they make - hard to describe ;-)

Aw shoot! Just woke up from an after-work nap to discover I was outbid (by $.50!) on a VERY interesting combination wrench. LOL, it's like a motivational story you tell your kids.

Anyway, it was a ZENEL TuType date code CY with open end 9/16 and box end 1/2. Model number 3118A. The A is stamped after the forged-in 3118.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/112349865390

This wrench is not in any of the catalogs I've looked in. Only four sizes were ever listed, and the catalog description specifically states each to have both ends the same size, making this beast a true chimera.
Edit - aha, it is listed among Special Wrenches as a carburetor wrench. 1938 p50, 1939 p51, 1941 p72. Guess I wasn't looking in the right sections.

Edit - Dang! Looks like I don't know some trick to posting links to sold items on eBay. Ah, had to disable VigLink (since it FAILS to perform its supposed function).

I do hope whoever won the bid recognizes what a rarity they have, and Gore-willing, they post it on this thread.

Lesserson, are you having trouble with the Ebay links on this site too?
Sorry to get off topic but your link and Four Cycle's link took me to Viglink. Is this some new form of advertising on Garage Journal?

Yes that seems to be the case. There is a button on the Viglink page to disable it; then I could follow the link to eBay again. Seems to be a "service" that purports to aid consumers in finding more buying opportunities, but more likely tracks consumer shopping patterns and sells the information to vendor sites. Having not read the privacy page, I don't know the details but I don't like it.

Could it be.........? The first combination wrench?
TuHex Trademark #340,108 Link
Unfortunately, this trademark cannot be found in either TESS or TSDR.

Seems so, if the X is a year (with no month?), and the year is 1932 instead of 1946.

Edit - Second looks, IS there a faint GZ between the --X-- and the box end? That would argue for 1934. The X embedded in dots resembles this embedded V on a 425A.

I have three of those TuHex wrenches, Z(1934), S(1942), T(1943). Each has a month code with the year. The 1943 one also has a larger V forged in under the month and year.
The contemporaneous Zenel combos I've seen tend toward 1933. This one seems to have a large X under the vague C(?)Y date code: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232300494100
and here's one that has TWO large letters forged in under the CY date code: https://www.ebay.com/itm/192132058318
Then there's the early Bonaloy combos. About the only difference between them and the TuHex is that (except for the date codes) all the marks are stamped instead of forged in. Two of mine sure look like Y year codes. Bonaloy isn't supposed to start until 1939, but 1947 should have USA, not Made in USA. See the grind marks on the 1/2" Bonaloy? Even the date code is ground off. Makes me wonder if (some of) the early Bonaloy combos could just be the TuHexes with the forged-in words removed and Bonaloy stamped over.
Edit - upon closer inspection, I think these are V and W, not Y, so 1944 and 1945.
Seems they were in the 1937, 1938, & 1939 catalogs, but I don't see them after that.

The 21 is the only one I'm missing to fill my tool board. Happy to trade for it or purchase.......

Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

Found a second 21 today. Different length. B-shield instead of the chevron shield. The unmarked doe below it has one gullet the same, but the other gullet is ground a tad wider.

Hoping someone on this thread pulls the trigger on this and treats us to some photos that are IN FOCUS. Specifically, I'd like to know the part numbers written on the round white labels.
Are the upright rods on the lefthand board for sockets? I can't figure any other tool that would hang that way.

Those are very cool! I agree the rods on the left look like they would hold sockets. As to the age, I have no idea, but I assume Twertsy is correct.
