This is my new shop addition. I started with a 30'x30' shop I built back 2004. The addition is 30'X50' with 4 bays.
I plan to add a lift in bay #2 and build a compressor/ phase converter room on the back of the original building. I also will be adding another overhead and walk door to the original shop. This will give me the ability to keep it separate from the new addition.
I did all the welding construction, with a little help from one nephew. I installed most of the wall metal, hired out the roof.
Then my nephew and I installed all the doors. My son and I did all the electrical.

What I started with:

When I first scrolled through the post, I saw the 'starting' photos and thought, "That's exactly what I want to end up with!"

... then I saw the addition. So that's what envy feels like. Now I know!

Thanks, In hindsight I should have started with a 40'x40' shop. But I thought I was really upgrading when I moved from my old house with a 24'x30'....
I have a phase 3 in the planning stage now, it will add 20' to the whole back wall for a 50x80 total. With a nice man cave :)

That's a beautiful and useful shop. I love it. Nice Bow Tie trucks as well.
Thanks. The bowties are all family members.
Very nice shop, Chevy trucks and machine tools! Is it safe to assume you do more than just maintenance in this building, like work from home? Where do you live?

Thank you. I do a few small projects for other folks but the machines are for retirement from working for someone.... Hopefully, in the near future.
I will be adding a few more before that happens. Plans are to add on again. to the back side.
I live in central Oklahoma

I accumulated tools and planned my shop similarly. I’ve always been self employed, but trust me: retirement is NOT overrated. [emoji1].
