I finally have heat! Tank was dropped end of last week and we got the heater fired up this weekend. I spent Sunday enjoying the heat. I need to attack plugging up some of the larger holes around the shop creating drafts. Not so bad right now, but will be a killer when it gets really cold. Pics of the setup.

I also went on a local pick to look at some "vintage stuff". Came home with a truck full of old stackable industrial drawers/bins and an old Chain Hoist that was made in a neighboring city. Also got an I-Beam trolley they had it hanging on but the trolley is severely undersized so I'm looking for a replacement. Missed out on a giant old vise the family had "for sale" but another family member claimed it as I showed interest. Oh well, search continues for another good vise for the big fab table I'm going to build later this month. Either way it was a nice little haul and only 20 minutes from home!

Yesterday I had a free day to spend in the shop and start organizing and hanging stuff some more. Having the stone walls makes it a challenge to hang things so I have had to change my storage ideas a little. I took some old Ford Model A brake rods I had sitting around the metal bind and cut the ends off, cut in half and quickly bent up 4 hooks to weld to the underside of my one bench to hang my extensions cords to. I also set up most of the sliding bins I scored Saturday under my Smithy bench and under my welding table. Turns out they all fit perfectly and gave me a ton of extra storage! I forgot the pics of the welding table I'll grab that tonight.

I also hung a bunch more stuff and finally got most of the boxes up off the floor and their contents put away. This is good timing as my English wheel should arrive in the next couple weeks! Hoping to get the metal for the big rolling fab table I'm going to put in the back left corner this Saturday if time allows.

Love the heater! How many BTUs does it put out?

125,500 BTU If I remember correctly. I was gonna opt for larger but a friend gave me this one so I'll make do. Seems to work well. I may also look into those radiant heat panels someone on here posted about to put over the areas where I work most if this heater can't keep up. I think as I seal up some leaks in the building it should work ok.

Got some time to finally put a piece of plate on this heavy drill press base I salvaged from a junk old Delta I bought at an auction for $10 a while back. Welded some plate on the top and filled some new sandbags and I'm ready for some panel beating! I'm going to add a ring to the stand tonight to hold my blocking hammers and mallets.

Also last night my English Wheel Showed up. After numerous times reminding the freight company that I needed a straight truck (box truck) they sent a 30 foot trailer on a SEMI! Somehow I sweet talked the driver into backing it down my alley and up to my shop. It was inches from neighbors fences and ripped my grass up (where I want to make a driveway anyways).. but we got it. I didn't want another chance of it getting damaged being rolled on and off another truck. Luckily it showed up in great shape! I started cleaning and polishing the wheels last night. This wheel hasn't been used in a long time (Gene had it sitting outside for a while actually :headscrat ) so the wheels need some love. I want to have the upper wheel resurfaced at some point but I think it will work just fine for now.

Been busy working away in my shop. Still need to do a few more things, but happy most everything is functioning.

Hooked my old Reading Chain Hoist up and lifted up the back end of my one A to finish weld and seam seal the bottom.

Also cleaned up an old Hollands anvil vise I got from a co-worker as my old one finally gave up the ghost where it had been repaired numerous times. This one should serve me for quite some time!

Words cannot even come close to describe the envy I have... The cars, the garage, the GIANT GULF sign. My goodness! Definitely following for more on this.

Been a busy summer and filling the shop up quick. Been looking for a nice 8' brake for a while now and scored that and a big 18" disc sander for $350 total at a poorly attended auction. Moving it was really scary, but I got to really test my vintage Reading Chain Hoist and I beam in the ceiling. Something crazy about an almost 1 ton item dangling from the ceiling and pushing it along the ibeam!

This old Crescent Sander was a belt drive unit converted to 3 phase belt driven. I need to get a single phase motor for it and I'll be in business. It came with a 3-4 boxes of new sandpaper so I should be set for quite a long time!

Little update. Scored a killer deal on an American Made 2 post asymmetrical lift. Had some friends help me put it up and I'm up and running!

I also scored an old 1920's Weaver Screw Press and a Power Hacksaw from a long time hot rodder and dirt racer's estate. They look right at home!

And a Random Shop Scene from the other night. Been using the hell out of my Eastwood QST Air Compressor. I need to get rid of my old 60 gallon noisemaker so I can tuck the QST in the corner.

Stumbled across your video of the 35 sedan looking for '36 fordor sedan vids (they're both so similar) and checked out a couple of vids, even one earlier today. Crazy that your thread pops up after so long and I stumble on it too. Lol. Dig what you're doing.

Such a rad space filled with bitchin projects  The rock walls look killer.
