Nice. Is that forcing screw in backward?

I looked and looked for a deal on a 2nd hand Snap-on ball joint press until I couldn't wait any longer and got a new OTC instead, and though it's totally handled everything I've thrown at it, I still wish I could have held out for a BJP1 instead. It's definitely one of those Snap-on tools where nobody else's comes close.

How much did that set you back?

Yes, it's backward. That is exactly how the set was packed when I cut the factory banding straps off and opened it. Some assembly required! :)

I paid about $100 under list, including tax. I probably could have done a little better, but I needed it NOW and he drove out of his way during lunch to help me out. I appreciated that. I have an awesome dealer.

The simple fact that all the parts click together so there is zero fumbling with it is worth the premium, IMO. It also covers something like 95% of the vehicles on the road with just this kit. The included manual tells you exactly which rams/cups to use--saves time. The price is definitely high, but so is the value.

EZ-Red extendable flex head ratchet set. The two flashlights were a surprise inclusion.

Does that set come with a triple zero Phillips?

Have you ever actually found a #000 Phillips fastener anywhere? I routinely work with tiny fasteners and rarely need even a #00.

I've also found that in small Phillips sizes, folks tend to pick a driver that's one size smaller than needed. It's surprising how small of a screw a #1 or #0 in good condition will fit. A flathead or roundhead #0-80 or even #00-90 machine screw, for example, has a #0 Phillips drive...

A couple recent acquisitions. Used a discount on eBay to get the new ratchet for $136, it's the FHLLF807f1f38c148544550f88b344070496240.jpg0b96beba0205745d5fbf7e931b5d715a.jpg225d3fc52d8fa14c60b398264b2ae8d1.jpg

My computer takes #00 Philips, but I've always wondered if a #000 would fit a little deeper. Either that or they're not really Phillips at all and are something else like Reed & Prince. Not sure. Apple says they're Phillips but the #00 Wiha doesn't fit the way I want it to; however, the #00 Phillips fits excellent on my RC car.

Not sure I ever posted a picture of this. I like to fix stuff occasionally for fun and saw this Impact in need of a little TLC so I grabbed it. It was missing some case screws and the handle. Gutted it, cleaned everything, new gaskets, vanes, and bearings and added the handle back. Its a 20 pound IR 3940 Titanium. 2500 foot pounds of reverse torque...you know incase you get a stubborn lug nut on a civic or something. Build quality is fantastic with most of the motor components being bronze alloy. Probably wont keep it, it absolutely devours air.

These just came in the mail. I bought the Tekton Basin wrench to remove an oil pressure sending unit on my car that is in a tight spot on the rear of the engine.
The China Crescent I got just because. I figured I didn't have a pass through wrench and this thing alleges to be able to remove 6 and 12 pt, square bolts, E torx, spline and partially rounded fasteners. The wrench part has a removable jaw for pipes.

Part number is 5CF. They're a lot smaller than they appear; only 4.75" in length. My pliers fetish does not discriminate against size.

I have so many questions on this!

Does the ratchet fit in there ok?
Does it just bang against the metal case? Is there any other filler or do the extensions and deeps just slide back and forth, again, into the metal case?
It says a 'snap-on' company. I have never seen this before, and it's a different font than what Snap-on usually uses, is this a common thing?
How's the ratchet?
How many teeth?
How's the back-swing?
how much was this set?

I'll answer best I can. The ratchet fits diagonally, and is low tooth count, and very crisp, which is what I like. I do not feel confident saying it has 40-ish teeth I think it's a lower count in the twenties Maybe but I'm not an expert on tooth count. The metal box is a mystery. I have found nothing on it in research. My belief is that this maybe was a limited edition vintage style box. Through research, I have found that this USA set was manufactured for one or two years around 2001 and 2002 and was only made in SAE. The sockets actually stay put due to a decent tight tolerance in their compartments they can move a little but there is a nice foam padding on the floor.

There is actually a set on eBay for $79ish but the sockets are on Accessory holders and there is no metal box. My cousin went to Indianapolis to view a set of Bahco USA combination wrenches and the craigslist seller showed him this as well he got both sets for $200. The combination wrenches were amazing quality and finish. Even in a Bahco USA tool roll. He sold me this set for $100. I can get a set on eBay for 80 bucks but the box is worth $20 to me.

it's possible the metal box was old stock in Flawless condition from the 80s or 90s but I still think it was some kind of vintage style limited thing. But then again I don't know, your guess is as good as mine. I Googled and found nothing no images no mention of a metal box. If you are interested in an eBay set just type "Bahco USA set" and only 7 results come up you will see them.

Been waiting a good while to pick one of these up second hand at a reasonable price (Mac brs038 ratchet) Ended up getting this for $100 10minutes after it was posted when they usually sell for around 200-250 second hand. Also a few more items from my Germany order came in

I picked this up today at my local store. Online my local Lowe's price is showing $79 and I showed the employee where the store 25 miles away listed it for $39.98 which is a 59% savings over the original price. He sold it to me for $39.98.

I bought both of these as well for under $10 our the door. Very happy with mine so far! Wish they had one that wasn’t a adapter for a 1/4” though.

PEC Tools - never heard of them; do they make tools for others, or just market under their own name?

I believe they do a fair bit of rebranding. I have a Blue-Point made in USA 6" machinist scale that looks like PEC. It stands for Products Engineering Corp, out of Torrance, California. This square has the heft and feel of a Starrett or Lufkin. I will have to check it at work tomorrow, but it looks well made and functions as it should.

The blemish looks like someone took a pencil grinder to the blade, you can see in pic- perhaps a factory 2nd mark, as it doesn't obliterate their name and logo, or USA. Just part of the numbers between the 3" and end of rule on the 32nds scale, which I won't use... I bought it bc it has decimal inches on the opposite side, which I prefer.

EDIT: even though this is the cheapest usa made double square you can buy new, there is zero laser etching. Scale is fully engraved.
