Send it to me, I will evaluate it and respond back with my best idea.

But for serious...send it to me!

Nice looking Athol vise. An Athol 626 is for sale on Vintage Machinery right now for $600.

Thanks for the advice I degreased the vise and lubed it up and wiped it down with rust preventive. Here is a stamp on the bottom of the base.

Here's one I restored not too long ago... It was missing the swivel base though.

I think either would be fine. Personally, I would Evoprust and maybe do a light wire wheel if there is any deep rusting. Other than that, just oil it up.

I like it how you just oiled it. Yours is in much better shape, mine had a bunch of dents on top from constant beating...

Hey that vise looks familiar lol. Yeah the struggle to get that vise from the old man's shed to my truck 50 yards away was a joy in itself. [emoji23]

Hope you enjoy it.

Wabo, fantastic find! What a piece of tool art. Looks great oiled and clean. Great scale photo with the can of Verde Green from the Wilton, better than a can of Coke. Can you get more light on it to show detail? Painted ones are easier to see but, I wouldn’t paint that, no way. 1912 yep natural or Japanned.
