And probably what I was the most exited for, magnetic adapters. Pretty self explanatory, they hold the fastener in the socket. They come in two different sizes for each drive size. After trying these out, you want to get the adapters with the smaller magnets. I ordered the larger magnets, but will be swapping them out for the smaller ones. The larger magnets won't fit in the E-torx sockets, and I'm sure most would prefer to have the adapter that will work on all their sockets.

Have you considered the koken nutgrips?

More of a mechanical solution than a magnetic one.

Nope. I looked into getting some Nepros and Koken stuff a few months back, but ended up just spending that money on the Snap On truck. :Help:

Although this will spend most of it's time in the garage, it is a tool for trails! Gonna spend as much on this thing as most guys spend on a new 54" SO box!

Continuing on with my acetate-handle addiction (started Here)

I picked up some (barely) used Xcelite nut drivers. I bought the metric set first, then the SAE. Both sets fit perfectly into the drawer I had set aside for them:

Had to do some work on a CHEAP *** Murry Mower... odd thing... it uses an 11/16" socket for the spark plug... I'm old... never hit that one before... Went to the auto store and talked to "the guy"... he said... that's 18mm... I said... it's 17.49mm... he smiled and pulled one of these off the shelf... I looked at it... Gimmy ONE OF EACH...

They don't have that annoying rubber foam **** inside... instead... see that brass colored collar... it holds 2 bubble tabs springy... that holds the spark plug secure. "Patent Pending"

Only tried the 18mm so far... works well... feels good...

Absolutely beautiful! Got into road cycling about a year ago to get more cardio in. If people thought we're insane for buying Snap On..wait till they see sticker prices on a consumable S-works frame!

Those cheapo calipers are great for using as scribes with layout fluid!
Well at work we have a 100$ digital and this one is equal or better I like that this one has a depth gauge. I am not really sure what a nice calliper looks like I have seen high price 200+ online but never in person. But it seems better than the plastic ones they sell locally.

Haha, it's amazing how quickly and easily you can justify spending stupid amounts of cash on bike parts.

It must be the way they machine the external torx sockets over a standard 3/8 socket. When I compare a standard 17mm 3/8 socket to the E-torx I can't see a difference why it would work on one but not the other.

I never knew Snap-on made these. I'll have to pickup a set.

Not the normal tool you see in this thread, but I got one of these in yesterday. Its a Pit Pal 201 engine sling. The days of the chain bolted up are over. 87e88db094d0043090a0b9c0d911e88b.jpg

AvE has a video on YouTube where he compares the typical cheap calipers to a good set. It’s pretty interesting.

Look at the difference in size for the thru hole. (The thru hole between the 3/8" square drive and the broached inverted torx.

It's a very minor difference in the broach. It looks like it's even less for the 1/2" drive (I'm mostly looking at the SLE18*) I absolutely believe you though. That magnetic extension looks like a great tool either way.

I'm not 100% sure that it will work on the inverted torx. I just remember asking my dealer why the different sizes and he didn't have an answer. When I was putting them away in my box, I picked up an inverted torx before a normal hex head to try them on and the light bulb went off when it didn't fit. I'll know for sure on Monday if they'll fit the torx.

Probably my last significant purchase at Sears. I was waiting to find a Craftsman Block grinder, but they seem scarce at a reasonable price and a reasonable distance from here.
Sears tempted me on this one with almost 50% off list price, then additional $15 in SYW points. This one also had the 8" wheels, with one being a wire wheel which I wanted. And light and guards. My old cheapo Sino-grinder will be relegated to polishing duties.
I ordered it before the big BK (bankruptcy), but Sears still came through, although a week later than originally promised.
And then when I was there to pick it up I found a NOS Craftsman USA combo wrench in a size (20mm) I didn't have already. 20mm is not common, but BMW and others are using it in suspension and other places. And SYW points paid for the wrench ($12.48) so it was a freebie!

Watched the video seemed kinda like a waste of time. Odd that someone would expect a 10-20 tool to be equal to 150$ dollar tool. Digital calipers are not precision tools from my understanding. I always thought micrometers or other precision measure tools were for people with mission critical needs.

Today was both a good and bad day. Good in the sense that I got some stuff, but bad cause my snappy man didn't have everything I ordered in stock. But I guess it just builds the anticipation. As shown in the photos first up is Snap on trim pad set, snap on pick set, and snap on XL pick set (not pictured but also placed on this order is the 8 piece screwdriver set, 4 piece smaller flathead/Philips set, 4pc torx set, and the 2 piece XL set..... wanna guess the colors of all these? Next up is the ez red plier set (thanks to tool_drop) and last but not least was a VIM trim tool also in a XL configuration it was $10 and is pretty thiccc so you best bet its gonna basically be a prybar and abused cause for $10 why not

Got the Craftsman Professional Grinding Center installed. I had to drill the Harbor Freight grinder stand which was just wide enough to accommodate. There was a LOT of vibration when I first turned it on. I had to bolt the stand to the floor to keep it from walking. A strategic zip-tie kept the lamp in place. Some reviews at Sears.com suggested the wheels, particularly the wire wheel, might be out of round. Now that's it's all bolted down, and I tightened all the bolts and screws, it seems okay.

I saw something shiny on the snapon truck today and had to have it.
I’ve gotten away with not having deep box end wrenches for years, because I have the style 15 stahlwille combo wrenches, but a few things I’ve run into have made me realize I should have a proper deep box wrench set.

Here are the stahlwille wrenches. They were great wrenches for the money, but they don’t quite fit in some spots

That's a BMW payment right there. Nice, though. I've got a couple.

The other thing about Snap-On chrome is that it lasts practically forever. I've got one of those from ebay with a 1987 date code. It's got some light scratches from drawer wear but otherwise it's perfect.
