Picked these Southwire 5 in 1 pliers up on a whim to rewire my kitchen. Handy tool.
Pro: Very nice for cutting and stripping wires.
Strips 10,12,14 AWG which is the most common. You really don't need 8 thru 24 AWG like others had.
Tip is the right size for bending hooks on the bare ends.
Con: You still need your Kleins for twisting wires together.
Design flaw: It has a lock to keep them closed for storage, but as soon as you shove them in your pocket or a tool pouch, it catches the lock and unlocks them. I'll fix it with a grinder.

I wish I had picked up a pair of those when they were $29 and Lowes had 15-20% off deals on them. Looks like they're up to $37 now.

Very cool; unfortunately, I doubt I could get it within two feet of the filters on either of our Toyotas.

These are my father's day presents from my wife. Picked them up last Saturday at Home Depot. I've used the impact driver already and love it (even though I own a ton of the Ryobi tools, this Makita was a great deal). Now I just need to fill this box and finish getting it all set up (have not had time during the week so far lol).

Quick buzz to HGR Surplus for some joy...

...125# jib crane x 8' arm

...1/4 ton jib crane x 12' arm

...Coffing JLC 1/2 ton electric chain hoist

...Demag 275# electric chain hoist

...and a 1300# piece of automation...can your eye see the 1" steel plate top, 4 leveling feet, fork pockets and 2-1/2" square tube frame with supreme paint. I don't even think I could buy the steel top for what the whole unit cost.

Minor gloat...the electric chain hoists are $2000+ items, new, which these aren't but I'll take them, they work perfectly. One was out in the parking lot collecting rainwater as part of its jib crane...

All of the cranes are going to need mods to work in the shop, worth a separate thread when I get there. But great bones to work with...

Little off topic but its tangentially related to hauling new tools home...Of course its always prudent to do some maintenance on a 31 yo truck before one takes it on a ~400 mile journey...I was leaking gas last fall on my last trip....

I did this same job 15 years earlier when I got the truck and changed the tank selector valve and the hoses were soft and gummy, installed a B+W turnover ball GN hitch....

Further investigation revealed that some form of rodent had gnawed the fuel hoses to the point the cord was showing, one leaking and the other was on the ragged edge....

For now went back with split conduits for some protection but as the famous Bugs Bunny has said "You Know, This Means War"!!! (on the rodents) :)

Got a new 1/2 drive torque wrench. :) Its an Armstrong rebrand but its brand new and got it for $110. Calibration cert says its within .32% @ 50lb, .015% @ 150 and 0.07% at 250lb.

CCW though its off by 1.28% at 50lb and the rest its within .5%.

I love the Vessel 900s, the knurling on the shafts and the semi hard semi soft handles. I got the impactas for my #2 and #3 but wish I got these instead.

I have one impacta in a 3, thinking I would use it on rotors, but I'll never hit it with a hammer in reality. I have an Impact driver for that. I love all the Vessel screwdrivers. I really like the ball grip for working on my RC cars, and the 900s for normal use around the house and cars. I have a wiha multibit driver I keep in my work pouch with limited space, but I would prefer to have Vessel if I had the space.

Used the hot deals ebay coupon to get one of these. Now I just need the 1/4" one. I was thinking it would of been nice if, during this new release, someone engaged their brain and they chopped the 6, 7 and 20mm, then made room for 2-3 pegs on the left for actual useful sizes like 21mm, 23mm, and/or a couple spark plug sockets.

My buddy who's an electrical contractor turned me on to these. On metal j boxes, he would use the pointy end to punch out a knock out, and use it to debur. Really great all in one installation tool!

I hate the Hansen rails for this reason, however 7 is very much used so instead of 6 should be 5.5mm

Not sure if this is considered a "tool" or not, but nonetheless it is the newest arrival. You can see my wife's smiling face. If 1 picture described our lives.... It's a cub Ultima ZT2. What a step up from the Toro behind it. Snapchat-1156457510.jpg20190622_110858.jpeg

I almost bought that same unit this spring, it's got good reviews but the wife had a similar look on her face and I didn't feel like fighting about it......lol
I'll bet it was closer to 4K.........nice

I went in to buy a Scag or Ferris, and the salesman told me to really consider the new Cub. For the parts it came with (serviceable transmissions with expansion tanks, 23hp Kawasaki, larger wheels and casters, adjustable seat, etc) it just seemed like a better deal for my uses. It cost us less out the door than the base price of the Ferris or Scag. I'm happy with it so far. It cuts great.

The wife knew what we were doing. She just made that face for the camera lol. She's a good sport about my bad habits thankfully. I even let her pick which mower/deck size we got.

The “AVE” hammer. Got a killer deal on it. Gotta say, it’s more jewelry than a user, tho.

T47 Torx but and a dual flashlight that hangs around your neck Rom the SO truck.
And a new set of AC gauges
I also got both versions of the seat creeper shaped like a mini Snap On truck, but they are still in the boxes.880612737339d95df33557e80534655d.jpg1463a16543b43525f37bb76eeccaaab3.jpg

I love the dual component Osca hammers. Was there an episode where Ave talked about these?

The SAE/Metric bit sockets were a BOGO, the 3/8" Techangle is not new, just had it recalibrated by Snap On, and the ratcheting screwdriver is a warranty replacement for the one I bought in 1995, as its selector ring had split.

Well the saw arrived yesterday but the blade didn't show up till today, still even before I put a blade in it I liked it. The LED is just what I always wished for when using circular saws. I was using one of my old SkilSaw's earlier this week to level the sawhorses I made and between the cord and the fact that it was only 3' long I resolved to take advantage of HD's current sale. For about $10 more than 2 of the new Octane batteries they threw in a bag (actually useful as it does fit the saw and both batteries with some room left over), a charger and a free tool. Considering the entire combo only costs $30 more than the bare tool itself I'm rather pleased with the deal.

Also in the picture is my least favorite ratchet which despite having received a warranty replacement, still irritated my mild OCD. Last night I took it apart, cleaned out the varnished up old gunk and miraculously it works again with just a few drops of 30wt.

Visited an Autojumble (swap meet?) here in the UK today. Was very surprised to find some Channellock pliers (3148-G). The seller said they were NOS and older than he is (looked about 30). Guessing they are not that old. Regardless, I'm happy to try some Channellocks after reading so much about them here.

mr lemons which autojumble is that I haven't been to a good one recently

https://www.newarkautojumble.co.uk/

It's worth the trip out when the weather is good. Any chance of rain and less than half the stalls turn out so it can be disappointing. Sunny day like today and it's a pretty big event. Lots of interesting stuff to be found amongst all the rusty old AF spanners.

Todays pickings.
