Dad retired from carpentry a while back and needed downsize his tool collection, so I was authorized to raid his stash. An impact driver is brought back from it's grave

Since I’ve yet to find anyone who actually tried them I picked up this Sears Craftsman “ultimate collection” set on clearance the other day.

Recent purchases. My HD is clearancing out Buck Brothers chisels and replacing them with Stanley, so I picked up a few. f7b2001e8436cb66075442def1b63d14.jpg7880c6ed69f4ef6f75e5fac0a61800ab.jpg913f796fea0355aedce1e732cbb23bfb.jpg1c3c7a0b0e8dabcf9afcc21458d9f4b0.jpg

Have you made any holes with those Irwin Marples Forstners? I was looking at them over the summer but Marples made in the US kinda threw me and I went with a set of Freud. The price though is great.

I did actually the other day, used the 1/2" bit, it seemed to do well!

Some Blue Point Corbin Hose Clamp Pliers

Corbin Pliers.jpg

Bought 1 of each of the ESCO to compare to see which 1 would work with my cars height. The other jack is there for reference. The 10499 is the shorter 1 and the 1 that worked for my cars. The 10498 is a little tall, but may keep it for my jeep.

Had to pick these up, to good an offer here in the UK to turn down.

The Milwaukee 3/8 - £130 ($167 us) and the one man brake and clutch bleeder - £35 ($45 us).

I found a discount code for the ratchet through GSF car parts here in the UK, which shouldn't of worked but it did so got it £100 cheaper than it should have been. Had to have a battle with the chap in the store to get them to sell it but got there in the end.

Watch my youtube video on doing the drawer slides before you load it up. Pretty quick improvement.

For $5 off amazon, I can't complain. For comparison, the 12 blade version (this is a 10 blade) is $40 at farm & fleet (on sale for 27).

Picked up this 3.5 ton jack on sale for $199... according to my local store this one is the most popular of any jack they sell and lasts the longest. It does have rebuild kits available if ever needed. That was a big factor to me since I debated against the harbor freight Daytona jack but I don’t think they sell parts??? This one weighs 100lbs so it has some weight to it! Also picked up this long cabinet style Phillips for $13!

Been really wanting to try these locking wobble extensions from SO. Played around with them this afternoon and first impressions are pretty good. Gave the socket a good pull, and these did not feel like they were letting go any time soon. I wish they offered these in 1/4" drive as well. I own the wobble plus extensions, and would recommend getting those before a set of these.

That looks nice - where'd you get it and how much? I'm itching to try some Koken tools and a nice 1/4" ratchet has been on my hit-list for a while. Do they make flex-heads of the 1/4" and 3/8" as well? Need some of those too...

Got them all on AmazonJP. Cost $45.19 delivered for the 1/4 drive.
I’m not sure of their product line up. Try searching Koken USA, pretty sure there is an electronic catalog out in cyberspace.

Picked up 2 sets of these at Costco for $20 each... not my favorite but for the quantity of items and cost you can’t beat it! 1 kit for each vehicle IMG_2071.jpg

Thanks! I’ve been looking for something exactly like that. There’s plenty out there but most of it’s dime store quality. Should do exactly what I need it to do.

Looks like a solid Koken ratchet there.

Have to admit, you’re right. Actually very nice! Works much better than they’re Zeal series. Actually night and day difference in feel and “perceived” quality. Completely different product, I really like this.

Something else "just in case" for a car I hope I never have to work on.

Zoro lists this set as made in France. I suspect the metal parts are Taiwanese and wrapped in France, but don't much care either way. They seem to be good tools, and the price was fair.

I suspect insulated ratchets/sockets/accessories will be a growth market, due to BEVs.

I know the 1/2 allen sockets are made in france, I assume the 12 point sockets are as well, the ratchet i'm unsure about, but the T handle and extension should be france as well.

I believe most if not all the 1/2 stuff is still made in france, other than ratchets and the odd bits.
