ozone generator? How much?

No experience, but it's pretty common to see substantial filtration in modern air handlers. What problem are you trying to solve?

The wife thinks it would be good idea:beer:

Ozone comes up on Amazon FAQ.......few comments on ozone , evidently the unit can be tuned by a sleeve. It says it is not an ozone generator.

I just had my HVAC maintenance yesterday. they said there was "microbial growth" (mold) on the blower unit. They cleaned it off but recommended a UV light that "might" fix the issue. They wanted $850 for it. Looks similar to what the OP posted. I'd love to hear from some PROs on whether this is snake oil, or if it's actually worth the spend. Is this something a competent DIY can do?

From what I read it can be a DIY install and can be found on Amazon. But it appears they only warranty it if it’s professionally in installed ? In HVAC that “warranty thing” seems to be common. Maybe some day there will be class action on canceling the warranty. ( that’s a whole nother can of worms, let’s not go there)

Look at www.topproductinnovations for their "cold plasma generator". Much more effective than any UV light setup and doesn't have anything to need yearly replacement like a UV light. I have one in each of my two HVAC units and love them. They kill germs, mold, mildew and odors like nothing else. Wholesale is around $400 each and Johnstone Supply carries them. ASRAM rates them and loves them. Install them in commercial units and you can eliminate the 20% makeup air requirement and downsize your units by that 20% and realize utility savings for ever.
