Have any of you come up with a good way of storing hand tools (rakes, shovels, picks)? I have over a dozen and would love to see how other people keep them off the ground.

This wouldn't work for everyone but we whipped it up and should have been done a long time ago.

I have one of these in the shed. Works pretty well with everything EXCEPT the huge leaf rake. Shovels, hoes, pruners, etc... fit well. Sits in the front corner of the shed, right inside the door.

It is a Rubbermaid corner organizer. Got mine from Lowes, I think.

I built one like this (this wasn't the plan I followed, but it's much the same).

Aha... this is the one I built. Very handy for keeping all those tools out of the way. I used regular ol' construction pine (2x4's, etc) rather than cedar but otherwise, pretty much followed the notes to a 'T'.

I have a 30 or so gallon steel barrel that I have them all stuck in, handle end down, of course.

These are a couple of metal organizers I picked up a few years ago at Menards. The hooks come in a lot of different sizes and can be rearranged easily. The brackets just screw to studs. I'm not sure how much they cost but Im sure they were not to much. My goal was to get all the tools in one small area and so far it has worked out well.

here is a idea for you. I made it up one day after seeing it in a handyman mag.

Ding, Ding Ding... I think we have a winner! I remember seeing something like this, but wasn't sure where.

Must have been the Handyman Magazine. Which, BTW is now one of my favorite reads. My guess is if you like this site, you'll like this magazine.

How I store mine using he air line to keep them in place. It also works as a place to hang my coat and raincoat.
