I have been looking for that toolbox that has the roll down doors. The one the Transporter put his license plates in. Who makes that and where can I find it? Thanks:beer:

Sorry I don't have any answers for you, but I do have a picture of the toolbox. Hopefully someone else can help you.

This is hard to find. Is there an American version of this type of box? If so, who makes it? Thanks again for the quick responses. I appreciate it.

Where in the hell did I miss this at? I've seen both Transporters or is this a third installment?

Btw... Jason Statham FTW!!

I was looking for low profile cabinets years ago and the roll up doors really made sense.

Another alternative if you are looking for roll-up tambour door cabinets is FACOM. Search the catalog on item 2205 as an example of the wall mounted unit, which is basically a pegboard cabinet with tambour style door (they call them shutter cabinets). They make several different types so look around. I've never owned their products so I can't vouch for their quality.

Recently I discovered IKEA sells an aluminum tambour door kit for some of their home entertainment cabinets. Size is 34" wide and I remember the price being decent. I have more information (p/n and price) at home if anyone is interested in adding some doors to finish off their existing open cabinets.

IKEA has kitchen cabinets with a rolling tambour - AVSIKT - in 18" and 24" widths. Looks like about $200 to $300 a cabinet. And EFFEKTIV roll-front doors for cabinets at about $70 to $100 each - but the dimensions aren't quite clear.

Best to search for "roll-front" on the IKEA website. The product names also turn up a bunch of other items.

Thanks for the search tip PAToyota. That 24" by 76" tall one would have been perfect for hiding the water heater, yet offering easy access. I noticed, however, that they are stating doors are painted polypropylene instead of aluminum, as I stated above. Still worth a look, nevertheless.

Where the tall corn grows!
the EFFECTIV roll front door addition for the EFFECTIV "Add-On High" cabinet is 33.5"x31.5" (going on the size of the actual cabinet it fits)... The EFFECTIV door is $100 and made of alum., poly, etc...

So I guess the "BESTÅ UPPLAND" line are poly while the "EFFEKTIV" line are aluminum (???) The one I saw in the store was from the EFFEKTIV line and it definitely looked/felt like true aluminum and that's why it sparked my interest.

Note that they seem to mix measurements of both inches and centimeters... I got screwed up a couple times.

I may be near an IKEA on Wednesday. If I'm able to stop in I'll report back on the construction.

Perfect - thanks in advance for taking the time. That tall narrow one might be great for a custom cabinet I have planned between my garage doors.

The Beta store here in the US is located in Long Beach California.

If anyone likes roll up doors keep your eyes open for cabinets on Craigslist made for data centers. I can't remember the manufacturer but I was able to score 2 cabinets that were 6 feet tall by 42" wide by 18" deep. Some of the shelves are pull out and I was able to get these for around 50-75.00 each. Beta cabinets are nice; especially their tanker trolley but they are an investment.

Wow, it's in LA? That's great. I'll have to check that out. These Beta and Facom cabinets look really nice.

We have cabinets like them at work (office cube-farm), though I can't say what they are like inside as they are all locked.

Like previously mentioned, maybe when someone renovates an office?

The original was good (BMW 7 series in Europe).

The second was bad (Audi A8 in USA).

The third was down right terrible (another Audi A8 in eastern Europe). At points they sped up the film to make it look faster than it was and did nothing to hide the fact they did so.

Jason Statham is one bad *** Brit.
