I fantasize about this garage.

I first saw this old gas station/service garage about 7 years ago.

I've had dreams about it. It's in a small town (population 2,500) 20 miles from the small town I live in and the same distance as my town from the small city where I grew up and still work.

This place was pretty run down the last time I drove by, but this weekend I noticed that someone is doing some work on it. It looks like they are restoring it, which warmed my heart! I snapped a few pics so I could share my fantasy with all of you.

I'd like to talk to whoever is working on the place if for no other reason than to thank them for not demolishing it and to ask what their plans are for the building.

The only problem I can see with the location is that it's 1 block from a small stream that does overflow it's banks occasionally, so getting flood insurance might be a hassle. This area, like a lot of places in the midwest and US in general have seen extremes in rain over the past few years.

I'll take more pics if anyone would like to see more of the shop. There is a corrugated galvanized tin addition that looks like it was added in the '60s attached to the back of the garage.

There are a lot of 150+ year old homes in the neighborhood that are quite unique also. Some are restored nicely.

You need to stop and try to get them on here. That would be a amazing shop to own. Looks like they are doing a nice job.

I wouldn't worry much about floods then if you have 150 year old homes nearby....
