Local Craigslist has a used but decent 40" KRA4107DPC for $575 obo. The box looks nice enough, has 7, "40 inch wide drawers. I know it is a KRA and the drawers are only 18" deep, but I am thinking if I can get it for the right price, it would make a good drill press, bench grinder station.

That is the right price, go for it. No need to haggle. Just pay asking price. 40" boxes often sell for a fair amount more than that. My coworker wants $3500 for his 4107 with top and mid box because that is what the snappy man offered him for it. I wouldn't pay that, but $750 (for the bottom) isn't at all out of the question, and I would immediately go upstairs to the ATM in the break room.

Often see them well above $1000.

That's like a $2K box new. I have that and the matching top box I got as a starter box when I was starting out. It's a little bigger than a drill press stand or bench grinder station in my opinion. I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it was on my CL.

That's pretty good if he got offered that. My Snappy guy offered me $2k for my bottom and top on trade for another box or scan tool.

I think I paid about $4200 for it originally.

I am learning to look used. I got hosed and lost out on a 40" Snap on 7 drawer KRA today that was sold out from under me for $575.

Well we know the moral of this story.....if you are looking for this brand/type/condition, you don't putter around if the price is under $1,000. No wasting time in hopes of a few hundred off here or there.

Well, I am coming to St. Louis in about a week and if that is still available I will probably be bringing it back with me. 575.00 is a damn good price for that. I got my KRA4107 for 400.00, but I had also just bought all of the tools out of it and the girl wanted it out of her neighbor/friends closet.
