I bought a universal joint from him a few weeks back. While slow, I got it. It sounded like he had been in a car accident or something.

He always answered my pm's in a reasonable period of time.

You aren't the first person to have problems with him. I haven't, but I haven't bought anything from him.

Here's his feedback thread.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108946

In one of his last posts he claimed he was leaving the forum for good.

You know what, screw it. I'm done. I've withdrawn all of my running sales and no longer am going to be participating on this forum. This is just never going to end, no matter what I do. I assume people will still be bumping this thread fifty years from now, after I'm dead.

He hasn't logged in since the 17th. While that was only 6 days ago, it was just a day after he claimed to be leaving.

I am also waiting for a purchase from this gentleman. I PM'd him about it and he did reply and sent a tracking number. The tracking number leads me to a message from USPS that says they were notified to expect a package from the sender. That was on the 17th and the information linked to tracking number hasn't changed. I didn't spend much with him, but I would like my item for my hard earned money.

This is pretty typical for the Post Office. Unlike UPS, that is generally the only thing you will see until the item is actually delivered, so it might be on the way. If it shows a tracking number, that at least means that he paid for the postage and printed a label.

Cant comment on the rest of the thread.

its the same story with him all the time, i'm not sure why anyone buys from him. I bought a 1/4'' Driver from him for $20 and waited 3 weeks and never heard anything from him and finally he responded and refunded me my money and said if he ever found the driver he'd ship it to me for free, i told him that wasn't necessary, and then emails me about a week later asking me if i would like to buy it and he found it. burn me once, but im not gonna get burned twice

I'm just calling this one a loss on my end. I doubt I'll see my tool or my money. If it shows up, great. If not, I'll just **** it up and carry on.

Did you pay with PayPal? If so, file a claim. You should be able to get your money back without too much trouble.

What did you buy and how much? BTW, how are you liking the sockets I sold to you?

I bought a spinner handle from him for $20. (picture for reference)
The sockets aren't being used yet, they are stashed away in what I affectionately call my "post grad tools stash".

Wow, reading through this this smells similar to my experience. Glad I did ultimately get my uni...even though it took about 4 weeks from time of payment.

I started a dispute with Ian via PayPal today. I've never had to take this type of action before with an online seller, but I am not going to let my money go without getting what I paid for.

Sometimes on other websites USPS tracking doesn't show just in time. I just tried tracking something I bought on ebay, and the link on ebay didn't show ****. On USPS' actual website this is what it showed:

Notice Left, December 16, 2011, 12:31 pm, KALAMAZOO, MI 49006
Out for Delivery, December 16, 2011, 9:49 am, KALAMAZOO, MI 49009
Sorting Complete, December 16, 2011, 9:39 am, KALAMAZOO, MI 49009
Arrival at Post Office, December 16, 2011, 5:02 am, KALAMAZOO, MI 49009
Processed through USPS Sort Facility, December 15, 2011, 1:54 pm, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512
Processed through USPS Sort Facility, December 12, 2011, 10:37 pm, ATLANTA, GA 30320
Dispatched to Sort Facility, December 12, 2011, 5:34 pm, LITHIA SPRINGS, GA 30122
Acceptance, December 12, 2011, 3:14 pm, LITHIA SPRINGS, GA 30122

Everybody loves to dog the PO...I have rarely had a bad experience. Shipping is always cheaper there too!

plenty of emails on his website

here is a post from another forums
http://www.bigevilonline.com/showthread.php?t=6490

He looks like he was already banned once before. Does anyone know why?

The post on BEO I made as a outside place for me to save the conversation. In case I needed it for later.

Best of luck to all! I may still have an address saved if anyone needs it.

Edit,

You got me curious BlindViper. So, I decided to poke around more with the name "IandH." Really seemed like he screwed the pooch with guys in the computer scene, and moved on to tools... That worked out great... Funny how history repeats it self.

Since I started this post I will let those who are interested know that I am today sitting here with the product that slipjointed sold me. I am very pleased with what I received. It did take a while, and communication was not the best, but I do accept that he is going through hard times with health issues. I will leave it at that.
