Holiday Epstein's Day?

How many of you folks think that we should have a holiday season Epstein's Day? After the July 4th Epstein's Day, which will be an annual event, we discussed this issue. A number of folks indicated that the event would lose its special nature if it was more than once a year. Is that still the feeling?

Because, that was a while ago. I'm sort of fixing to make some holiday splurges on myself. I just got a small order from them, and was reminded of how pleasant the experience of buying quality tools from a family-run business like HJE really is. I got some modest custom box art, too, to get my kid involved in opening the package with Daddy. It was an awesome part of the afternoon. I like the idea of this company knowing that they are supported, and I like the idea of buying quality tools.

I'm just putting out feelers at this point. I haven't mentioned it to Jori.

Eh, with the secret santa shenanigans as well as typical holiday rush going on, I'd say let it be 'til next July 4... I'll save my pennies and be ready for then. :)

They will still get orders, I don't see the need to organize a mass buying just for Christmas. With that said, I do want to say that I have had very positive experiences in the past with them and will again participate in the annual HJE day.

Yeah, there really is no "need" to do it. As I mentioned, I just want to use the holidays to splurge on myself through them and I like to support them. They are pretty unique in the tool world. I know I am not alone in terms of these sentiments. I was just taking the temperature of the room, so to speak.

If people want to wait until July 4th for an organized group buy, that's ok.

Heh, I actually have a little Epstein splurge coming up in a few days... in person! I'm going to be in the area, so I plan to stop. I'm told I should also stop at Arthur Bryant's or Gates BBQ.

placed an order last week, got a nice email and call from "Steve", telling me the 5 piece ratcheting set I ordered for $56 was no longer available, but they did have another set by "Kastar" for $21 less. sold! When I looked at closely at the Kastars after they arrived it cleared up another mystery for me. Namely who was making them for Sears. Same patent number.

I love how the email confirmation and the whole website to be honest maintains that old school hardware store vibe. This has probably been posted here before, but I just recently saw it, and am going to share it again.

What happens to my Epstein's order once I click "purchase"?

I agree. I'll be getting the Armstrong locking flex head in 3/8 for Christmas. But I'll be using the rest of the money for tools from other sources. One big push a year sounds good to me.

Sounds like the sentiment is for a July 4 exclusive; I understand that.

Also sounds like they get business from GJ folks throughout the year; awesome!
