A Bitbox from the Aldi supermarket .

The Bitholder is another one than in the Hazet, but the "Targon" box costs only one third !

I love it……..:D

I wouldn't jump to conclusions, though.
They are probably only using the same supplier for the case. The bits inside are probably not the same.

That's some serious ***********. Give me a minute while I take a cold shower:willy_nil
Wow that 27mm 630 box wrench is with the small "a", it must be from before 1965.

You've got some really amazing stuff. What's your favorite combination wrench?

Hazet 600N and Heyco Maxline are my personaly faves, i love the haptic.

img0557qe.jpg

Ahhhh....you are a specialist (!), do you know more about this 450´s ??

img0548vg.jpg

img0553bx.jpg

The 600N is my favorite too.
Are the Heyco Maxline discontinued? I can only find them for sale online in a small set with many missing sizes:10,13,16,17,18,19,21,22,24 I cannot find any other sizes available. And of course, nothing in Taiwan. I don't think I could stand to have the set and never be able to fill in the gaps:eyecrazy:

For the 450 wrenches, No. I am not a specialist, but I think I can answer your question:
The small "a" places it before 1965.
The extra room in the frame makes it 1959 or later. So it is from between 1959 and 1965. The wrenches before 1959 have the frame around the logo crowding in closer.
The wrenches before 1956 have an elongated "L" underline, rather than a straight line.
The wrenches before 1950 have an elongated "U" underline
I got my information from a website about Porsche 356 toolkits.
I actually do not own any Hazet tools older than the 1980s.
The reason being that there is absolutely no Hazet available in Taiwan any older than that.:(

The Heyco Maxline are still available, but it’s very hard even here in Germany to find a shop which is selling them, i only know 2 online shops. :dunno:

The small "a" places it before 1965. (the small "a" reappeared for a while in the 70s but the underline was a wide "U" shape)

With regard to the 'chrome flaking off' from the Hazet socket, I own quite a few German tools, mostly Stahlwille but some Hazet, and they come as new with a sort of matt silver paint protecting the inside of the socket. In use, this peels off fairly quickly leaving the shiny hard chrome underneath! It's not 'flaking chrome' but can look like it if you are not familiar with the tools or the chroming process!

The 60's and maybe some special brochures coming next, but scanning the 60's catalogs is really hard work without damaging them (not to tell about the 70's with approx. 160 pages)...

But I'm glad that it works and you're all happy now :)

My old hammer moved to my car. I replaced it with two.

Hickory handle, protective steel sleeve, induction hardened, tapered collar and plate with wood screw. Perfect.

I'm not an expert metallurgist but my understanding is blueing of steel is the 1st step/sign of breakdown of steel and where chaffing will begin to appear. I'm feeling like the hammer should have been polished out to remove the blue caused by improper cooling after tempering or finish grinding without coolant.

:rocker::rocker: Vintage brucker snip - made in w.germany

anybody know info's about brucker plant ??:)

I found a tin snip manufacturer with the name of: J. B. Brucker
But the name was deleted at the trade mark office and the new name of that company seems: "Blechscheren-Union Werindus + Brucker GmbH + Co Werkzeugfabrik"
but there is no homepage or something.....only a adress...

Elora & Elofort **** !
:D

So where´s the Matador and WGB **** ? :D

HAZET started to publish it´s old catalogs, starting the 1950´s as pdf-files:

cool !!!! Danke !!!

it´s an extra induction hardening of the outer zone/fringe of the hammers striking surfaces

The "employer's liability insurance coverage" recommends to use such hammers

Come on man!! It's a gedore habero, not possible to became such a tragic mistake. :D
But monte gave a better explanation. ;)

I'm not an expert either. What I understand from all these is that everything became properly and after all, extra hardening applied at the corners.

Lucky you!

It's ok.. I'll find a use for them! :p

Thanks for the explanation guys, I haven't come across tools with this appearance, only worn out parts. It does look finely layered unlike over heated parts.
