OK, I was bored this week. There haven't been any sales and I don't have any other projects going (that I want to start).

So, I decided to clean and paint a pair of 12" clamps I picked up before thanksgiving. I had seen another member use Rustolium's Painter's Touch 2X paint in Sage Green on a project and thought it would look good on my clamps. It was close to one of the brushed-on colors on the clamps anyway. While I was at it, I tossed in some 4" clamps that were rusted enough to be a PITA to use.

After 24 hours in EvapoRust, The paint, grease, and rust was easy to wire wheel off, then it was off to masking and painting.

Pic #1 is the before pic of the 12" Hargrave clamps (I don't have before pics of the 4" clamps, but they were rusty enough to be barely usable).
Pic # 2 is after.

After 4 days for the paint to cure, I wiped the bare metal down with PB Blaster to avoid surface rust. All the clamps work as good as new now. I may do this with some of my pipe clamps next (if I get really bored again). My other C-clamps can wait, they still have their original finish on them.

Thanks to all for putting up with my pointless ramblings. :lol_hitti

Jake,

So, the finish on the screws is just burnishing from the wire wheel?

Looks great!

I may have to do something like that.
