I've seen a box like that at the local ReStore a few months ago, but I can't remember what it is. the cantilever tray was missing. I think it might have been a Huot or a Proto. There was a tag inside, but I don't recall what it said.

Well, you guys were spot on. Decided it wasn't worth the over hour round trip so I just paid shipping and I'm out $45 for it. Guy should have had a better picture on it, probably would have sold quicker.

That is a really cool box. Was that on CL by chance? I'm surprised a CL seller would ship something. :dunno:

That's funny, I pretty much go ape **** cursing people out when I get an out of town text. Especially when they copy/paste the title in the text and ask how much when it's clearly in the title and description :lol_hitti

I blocked texting on our phones, All I ever got was spam so...

And I NEVER post my phone number even in "code" that supposedly stops the phone number readers... (Really? it so easy to decode...)

I've shipped for CL sales before. I've also had guys come from 2 states away to make a purchase.

Maybe I made to much of a blanket statement with that one. I guess I should have said, "I'm surprised the average CL person would ship something" based on my experience. Especially something of that size.

It wasn't CL, I was looking on eBay based on distance. This was 'Vintage Tool Box Metal'. His city wasn't too far away, but when I got a more precise location it was clear on the wrong corner of the area and not worth saving $20 to go get it.

I really want to see what's behind the bumper sticker on the lid. I was thinking of using a heat gun, think I'd damage anything that was original if there's a plomb decal or something behind it?

I think you have nothing under the decal/ At some point (not sure if it was early or late) Pressteel was stamping "Pvmb" on the boxes (I can't recall if they did the Proto era), and that would have been raised.

I note the sticker says "Set No" (Not S/N) so I think that originally was a box w/tools as a set. That might have been considered adequate. :dunno:

PM received: 454 is too far away for convenience. Is there anyone close to North Attleboro RI, that can help facilitate the buy and shipping for me? The guy is asking $25. shipping is for a Box 10 X 10 X 23.

I received this rig in trade from a friend about 15 years back. My friend had it for probably 10 years or so. It was just passed on down the line to someone that was excited about taking it though more of its journey through life.

I picked up the MAC roller used off the MAC truck in '86 or '87. The MAC rep took it in on trade and wanted it off his truck ASAP. I paid $50-75 for it. I just swapped out its steel wheels for some softer material casters. It is now used as storage for some of my Sunnen tooling.

The top chest was acquired around the same time as the MAC roller.

Both of these gems have served their purpose well with lots of fun memories.

North Attleboro is in MA, near/on the RI border. I'd help, but it's several hours from me and I can't range that far due to family obligations. Sorry.

Do we have anyone in Woonsocket ? Or Pawtucket/Providence ? It's closer.

That is a really cool, really old craftsman box. I'm fairly certain it belongs to a member on this forum.

E-mail the guy and find out. Maybe if he's a GJ member he'd be willing to ship it? The box I just got is about the same size, they just wrapped it in cardboard.

Here are some pictures of my Plomb Toolmobile that I inherited from my grandfather. It's all original with the original wheels, dividers, sliding tray, lock/ locking bar, and key! I almost get tempted to strip and repaint mine so it looks new but the patina is kind of cool too, and like they say it's only original once so I'm probably better off keeping it the way it is as a "survivor." Sorry if this is too picture heavy.

This is probably the nicest original Toolmobile that I've seen...

Being a family piece, makes it extra special...Thanks for sharing!

Eh, I really don't need a box like that at the moment. I was just commenting on the cool factor. Maybe Outlaw will get it and post pics for us.

Those toolmobiles were made for Plvmb by Pressteel. I have a 2 drawer Pressteel version of that bottom roller, and passed on a second one on CL a couple years ago.
