Nice garage! And nice Kadett... Very similar to the Holden Gemini sold here. Is yours standard mechanically? They are popular for engine swaps here, being light and rear wheel drive.

thx guys!

the kadett is still standard mechanically.
Mainly because of the stupid belgian laws which say you can't modify a car... so no bigger engine, better brakes etc..

So still a 1.2 ohv engine, but it's great fun anyways ;)

@ Frederiz, don't remember where the first one was taken but the second is in a huge camping place just outside of Avignon, and the 3d is "gorges de l'ardeche'. close to le pont d'arc

And thanks Dr AK for the brilliant pictures! love them

What about an American car? I helped a friend send a 440 Chrysler engine to Belgium to a guy outside Antwerp to put into his 'Cuda several years ago. While a 440 was available in a 'Cuda, his didn't come with one. It's too bad gas is so expensive in Europe, as he says he can barely afford to drive it anymore.

I really wanted to put a V8 into my Manta, but didn't know then what I know now:( I worked part time at a Buick dealer while I was in college and bought the cars cheap.

it's same for any car really, no matter where it's from.

but then again there is an even more stupid rule...

When you have a car you drive to work with every day you have to get it checked every year.
but when that car is 25 years or older you can decide to register it as an "oldtimer". Which means you only have to go the check-up one more time and then never again.. only downside, you can't use it as a daily driver then (restricted insurance)

So what alot of people do with older cars here is register it as an oldtimer and then modify the hell out of it (cause there's no more check-up every year)... All is good untill you get in an accident or the cops pull you over...

but hey, I'm not complaining, like my cars the way they are ;)

It's kind of like that here in Arizona, except the inspection is just for emissions legality, not safety or maintenance items. Any vehicle over 30 years old doesn't need to be inspected anymore, or licensed yearly, but you are only supposed to drive it to car shows , events or parades , less than 5, 000 miles a year, but you see them on the road everywhere, everyday and most are worn out pieces of ****.
Cars built before 1966 never had to be inspected for emissions. I just happen to own a 1966 Chevelle. When I finish re-doing my garage, I'll start reincarnating it again, in a Pro-Touring format.
