Does HF still sell them? I can't seem to find them on their site. I'm picking up the 50' air hose reel tomorrow. I drive past one in the way to my parents I'm not skipping out on seeing my family in favor of HF!!!

Anyway I have a few of the black ones and love them. Bought 2 of the red ones and they are all cracked and peeling. Darn things are only 2 years old the black ones are at least 5. The plan was to replace the red one on the reel with a better one before I bolt it to the ceiling.

Also HF has 2 different part numbers on the site for what appeared to be the same thing 93897 and 69264. Can anybody tell me the difference? Thanks guys. Keith

I am a GAD hose dealer..
The reason the red hoses from hf are cracking is like all products from china, they use LOTS of fillers. Clay is the main filler they use as of course it is cheap.
Goodyear and gates are the only ones I would buy. And they are both made in North America.
Just my two.

You sure you want the Goodyear Black? Heavy thick casing, very strong, but big. Or do you want the Goodyear F5 hose (Blue), -the Goodyear hose that puts Legacy to shame. Hard to find F5 in 1/2", Amazon sells some 3/8 though.

I don't have the Black, I have the Yellow (300 PSI), Red (Wingfoot) (which have the same OD as the black) and F5 Goodyear hoses. All are 1/2". I also have and use to use Legacy hoses 3/8 and 1/2. The best hose to have on a wheel is the F5 by far. Their 1/2" is the same size as a lot 3/8 hose are on the outside. It's tough, flexible and light as hell.

Goodyear Black is gone from HF. I don't know why they would drop them in favor of their other hoses. The only non Goodyear hose I ever bought from HF didn't even make it through the weekend on a roofing job.

I did quite a bit of reading about the Amazon "Goodyear" hoses. It appears that the biggest seller on there as was mentioned above is just Goodyear branded and is not actually made at Goodyear plants. Probably an import. I read the one star reviews about them popping in the first week and decided to stay away.

A Goodyear hose pop ? Yea that must be a knockoff. True Goodyear hoses usually have a diamond on them. The HD hoses anyway. Goodyear is owned by Veyance Technologies, Inc. an IBT company, = USA.

You can get ANY Goodyear hose here, -including the new F5. -

https://www.shopibt.com/storefront/itemdetail.do?action=prepare_detail&itm_id=1035285&itm_index=2

I ordered F5 two months ago and it arrived 3 days later. Although, the link above was a little screwy when ordering, I went ahead with it anyway,- since it was the ONLY place I could get what I wanted...50' of the new stuff (F5) anyway. It cost me 50 bucks for 50 of 1/2" F5. Yea it's still a little pricy (fairly new), but once you supply air to this hose it doesn't stiffen up like the Legacy stuff. With no air, the Legacy hose is more flexible and will even kink. What good is that ? Hose performance counts the most when it's charged with air right.

You can order Gorilla from there as well.

Anyway, I ordered my Goodyear hose from the link above with good service and packaging. That was JUST the hose. It didn't come with bend restricters or fittings. Wish they would have through in a couple bend restricters.. Dangit!

Regardless,- if your dead set on GY Black hose, here's the link to that, -

They have "Black" in the Wingfoot line up and others. I believe Wingfoot is double braided, - might be one of the pricier lines. But there's other Goodyear lineups to chose from.

I cant sell into the states as we are from canada.
I would go with the yellow as well. Very good in the cold and remains flexible.

I bought the 50' hose reel part number 69265. Retail was $119.99 advertised price was $89.99 then I had the 25% off Easter coupon for an extra $22.50 off. I figure for $67.49 I can't go wrong.

I know the red hose that is in it *****, as soon as it starts leaking, I'll just spool one of my black Goodyear rubber hoses onto it. I found 2 more brand new ones on the shelf in the shop that I forgot I had. Now that I have the reel, I see no reason to have 200' of hose coiled up on the wall. I have enough of the good hoses to run a nail gun on the farthest corner of the house, using the compressor in the shop. Hope to mount the reel and run 1/2" black pipe to the sandblaster. After that I can start putting the ceiling up and blow insulation in. Might keep the condensation in check, definitely will help to keep the heat in the shop next winter. Keith

IF you wanna get a super air hose, Google flezilla air hose. It's not real cheap as compared to HF hoses but this stuff is great. And even down into sub zero temps, its as flexible as one laying in the sun. Like mine.
