So, I picked up this kit for $1. There are no labels, with the exception of one marking on the wrench, of which I'm not familiar with. I bought it at a somewhat estate sale, where the widow and her family were selling her late husband's tools, and garage stuff. Typical situation of things being either drastically over-priced or drastically under-priced. She said he collected old Land Rovers, and vintage motorcycles. I would assume this kit is European, as the wrench is metric. There is a reversible screwdriver with both flat and Phillips, so I'm guessing it's from at least the Forties. Any ideas?

English vehicles used British Whitworth back then rather than Metric, Phillips screws came out in the mid to late 1930's. This appears to be something Italian, French or German although BMW motorcycle roll-ups were quite a bit nicer and all the sets I've seen and owned were in a vinyl coated fabric material. Perhaps DKW, Sachs, Horex etc although looking at the lack of additional small wrenches and the sizing of the "Tube" wrench sockets would lead me to think they're automobile related.
Good luck in your search,

Thanks Moto. I've been spending far too long online searching for a answer on who made this, or which vehicle it came with. Obviously, I still don't have any answers. As you mentioned, I can rule out English, and thus it's not a Land Rover kit. I've noticed the wrench is identical in form to that of German wrenches for tool kits. Apparently, Walter made a lot of these wrenches for Mercedes, and BMW. Though I'm leaning towards it being Italian, maybe Fiat.

I could be wrong. I often am. did I also mention i'm humble:lol:

the 13mm/8mm wrench looks like a HEYCO and the rest looks like a factory kit for a BMW car(not motorcycle).

wether i'm right or wrong; for a buck you sure cant go wrong for that kit.

Yeah, Heyco, Hazet, and Walter all look the same. It's the logo that's really driving me nuts. There's nothing else other than the logo on the wrench.

That tool kit is definitely German. Not sure what German tool company made it or what German vehicle it was for.

I'm also sure you are missing at least half of the tools that originally belonged with the kit.

I see German kit tools in the pawn shops, flea markets, garage sales, ebay, and craigs list fairly often. You should have no trouble finding the missing pieces.

Here's a photo of a BMW motorcycle kit from the 1970's. It has a pretty robust tool complement:

This should give you some idea of the tool types and quantity of German tool kits (note some of the wrenches are not original to the kit but were added by the owner).
