Back in January (2009) this year this became a new project for me with the decision to cancel the registration and put it onto a permit type registration ( read as a saving of $$$). Having two truck projects on the go has not been easy but this one as it is now on a permit to drive I can take my time with whilst I concentrate on the F4 > project.http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10871&showall=1
Any way back to the 1969 C1300 4x4 International. These trucks used the same cabs in Australia as Dodge owned by Chrysler Australia at the time who later became Mitsubishi Australia. This one was an Ex Country Fire Authority Fire Tanker. I still have the tanker unit and it is now mounted on a trailer. I removed the tank etc. years ago and put the tray on the back. The truck has been set up with extractors and dual electric fuel pumps as petrol (gas) vaporised in the heat. I also set it up to run on LPG (propane) as that is a cheaper fuel here.
Here I have the front wheels off ready to bead blast paint and fit new tyres (tires
)
One wheel done. Six to go. Photo does not do the paint job any justice. I can tell you the wheel looks better than this photo. I think I took this photo on my phone.
Front back on its wheels. Five wheels to go.
All done and back on its wheels.
I have also mounted two extra spare wheels on the back tray ( under the cover ) and redone all the suspension. Next on the to do list is some of the body work but that has to wait whilst I now finish the F4.
