Thanks for the heads-up! My 12 y.o. is interested in learning some welding techniques and the wire will give us a good start. I know flux core isn't the end-all be-all, but it's what we have.

I find it a bit stupid on Fastenals part to try and charge me $7.14 to go pick it up at their store....I'll pass with that kind of deal.

So the wire is ESAB & is marked "Union Made in USA"

I was expecting no-name Chinese honestly. The only kinda drawback is that it appears to just be loose spools (vs individually boxed), but not really a big deal

I ordered two spools and one was broken and the wire was totally loose/unwound in the box. I emailed Fastenal to see what to do...

So, hesitant to even post this before I receive my order but the 10# spool of .035 flux in post #1 is now $9.45.

For me shipping was about $8 per spool, so almost a 1:1 ratio but even so a 10# spool of .035 flux for ~$15.42 (that was my cost per spool at qty 3) is stupid crazy insane ridiculous cheap.

Don't empty out the warehouse before my order goes out you GJ deal seekers!! I ordered it into my local store as shipping was a *little* cheaper (called them).

The guy also told me if I ordered 2 more spools for a total of 5 shipping only went up $4, so at some point it becomes less per pc. I guess this is also the advantage of having a cool guy in-store who is willing to plug in varying numbers to get you a good deal, or just make you aware.

Thanks for posting this. It is a huge discount over what it usually sells for. I think my local store has it in stock (according to the website) so I'm going to get a few spools while it's on sale.

^^I saw that. I've gotten nothing but bird's nests from .030 flux, can't stand the stuff. It's as though it's not structurally sound enough with the flux in it at the smaller diameter. But absolutely - - good deal for those who like the .030

Same here. The ad shows Uniweld, but ESAB Coreshield 15 arrived. I'll take it.

I was in the local store a few days ago and noticed that they have a rack with some of the clearance items shown on their site. Some look like real bargains. For example, the Jonnesway air nailers are on big discount. Don't know about the quality, though.

This framing nailer is one that is on sale:

Fastenal Part No. (SKU):
0267149
Manufacturer Part No.:

UNSPSC :

Category:
Tools & Equipment > Air Tools & Accessories > Air Nailers & Accessories > Air Nailers
Wholesale:
$343.59 / each
Online Price:
$73.99 / each

It varies depending on where you are. You can run thru the cart at checkout to see what they'd charge, or call your local store for maybe a slightly lower shipping cost. But no one can answer your question exactly because its not a flat shipping charge.

Man, I just blew $111 on flux core, bar stock, key stock, and flat bar. Compared to my local metal supplier, it's a great deal. ~20 sticks of 3" metal + 10 pounds of wire for only $20 in shipping aint bad.

This deal is still on going. Just picked up four rolls of the 0.35 flux core for $14.67 a roll. That includes shipping to the store and tax. Like others have said, the wire is ESAB not uniweld. I think that is a good deal for brand name flux core wire.

Just called my store today. They dropped the ball. Gee, I wonder why people just order directly? They're supposed to re-order. Good thing I don't really need it.
