I'm trying to find a source of replacement rubber grommets for the Craftsman Bench Grinders (I have, hmmm, more than one!). Unfortunately these are an odd size as the top "head" of the grommet is smaller than the base--see pic. Anybody know where I can get these?

Mine has the same and I have 3 out of 4. :willy_nil I recall finding something similar at Lowes but I don't remember why I didn't buy them... If I ever decide to build a pedestal for it I am just going to use some rubber from a bicycle inner tube or similar.

Google Images search "motor rubber feet" and if that doesn't get you anything, just "rubber feet."

Lots of hits with these two searches.

I have the same problem. This grommet that OP is referring to is the power cord grommet that goes through the base. Problem is now most cabinets are thin sheet metal, where the thickness of the cast base is o. The order of 1/8" or so. I have been unable to find an appropriately sized grommet either. Not to mention the flat starter capacitor that fits in the base. There is a parts diagram available on sears.com as I recall. I have it at home and will add a link when I can.

Thanks for the link.

Here's a source that's another possibility. I have ordered and used these and they are a very good fit, a bit large but very good.

These seem about right (for the 45$, 95% intact, 1/2 HP, 397 serial number I just picked up!!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LAU-38-2209...145?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232e055699

The manufacturers specs show the hole is 5/16. My (one remaining) original has a 3/16 hole but other specs are really close:

I bought mine from a slower shipper to save a buck and a half, but will advise how well they fit upon arrival.
I placed an order for 12 of the eBay items, I'll post an update when they arrive.

Here's a screen capture of the LAU pdf page.
