Absolutely world class. Have never ever seen anything close. I wonder what he used to braze(??) the parts of the panels to a whole panel.

Since I am half-deaf, the sound was unintelligible to me. Background music and speech is not for me. Pity, I would have liked to understand what was being said.

Again. World class. Downunder is where it is at!!

I hope Ferrari don't see this as they will sue him for copyright infringement. there was a company making very good 250 GTO replicas back in the early 80's based on the Datsun 240Z and Ferrari sued them out of existence.

I doubt that would happen.
This place has a 70 year history of building cars from scratch.
Ferraris, jags etc. You name it. He's done it.

edit.
His builds are exact replicas. They are not based on any jappa. lol

If I was a Ferrari big shot I would try to hire this guy.
He would be the perfect person to make restoration jobs on "totalled" non carbon fibre cars.

Lawyers?? Well can be useful but do let them loose on their lowest hyena level.

I thinks Shaespeare had some pretty harsh remarks in King Lear. But I am certainly not a classically educated person so I am probably wrong.

Since he was a compatriot of lippyp, maybe I could be enlightened if Shakespeare lambasted them in King Lear?

Best regards

Don't get me wrong I think its amazing but sadly these big companies often guard their trademarks very jealously. Rover/Land Rover did this back in the 90's when they went around all the independent specialists that had kept their older products supported way after their dealer network had lost interest in those products and threatened them with legal action if they used any Rover Group trademarks in their business names etc.

Just look at Jaguar today, just set up a heritage division and are now making a limited run of "continuation" E Type lightweights. It shows that especially with an iconic marque their back catalogue still has value to them.

Amazing to see someone doing it as it would have been done in the factory, superleggera frame and the body hammered out over a wooden buck. Takes an amazing eye to do.

No offense, but the wrong kind of lawyers certainly rub me the wrong way.

I read up on my non existent classical knowledge, but do not claim that I at all understand the context of this part from The Bard´s ( did I get that right?) Henry the Sixth " The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."

A bit extreme, but sometimes close.

But , again. I think Ferrari would do very well by farming out overhauls of older cars to the genius shown in the video!! He will do it just as well if not better than most specialized companies. And non of them have ducks or chickens participating!

What are they using for engines and driveline components? I would think that Ferrari engines are about as rare as the cars themselves.

Funny, I just happened to watch that same video a couple days ago.

As for where they get the engines, it used to be fairly common to buy one of the less desirable Ferraris and use it as a donor - even with the expense of buying a complete car just to throw away the body, it was still profitable when using the remaining bits to build a GTO. As prices have gone up for those 'lesser' cars I don't know if that happens so much anymore.

He doesn't have a problem accessing engines.
His work is world renown.

I guess there will always be the odd car that gets written off in an accident or the odd barn find less desirable car that is beyond economic repair to donate an engine, plus of course the option of fitting a modern unit. I know the company Pur Sang that make exacting vintage Bugatti recreations actually make the full engine themselves even having new blocks cast.

Rod has been building cars for at least 30+ years, I remember when I was building a T bucket, Rod was building an E type jag out of steel.

I remember seeing C and D type jags being built in his dads shop along with Lister Jags. I heard they also did a Daytona coupe.....always wanted one of them.

An exceptional talent that is world renowned, I've been meaning to stop in and see him on one of my trips north but as yet I haven't, it's probably almost 25 years since I saw Rod and the art he creates.
