So what did you have to pay for it? Can you show us a pic of it sitting on your tool box.
Thanks Rich

Going to tear it apart and clean it up first. It was enough to just get it on the workbench by myself! Gotta order bumpstops from Accuride also before reassembly.

I paid 400 for it.

I have told my father for years if he does not call me before he passes so I can get the boxes out of the garage, before my brother finds out, I will never talk to him again. He always says "I will outlive you and Golden Boy will get what he has coming". You win some you lose some I guess. Nice find!!

Congratulations. Finding something after 6 years is exciting.

Is the kr1000 the box that has the flip up lid on the top?

Yup, and the reason I really wanted the KR1100 as opposed to the KR1200 is that it still allows use of the "secret compartment! The 1200 is deeper and covers it.

Congratulations. Must be a relief. Of course you will now find a few more for sale after you bought this one. That must have been fun moving by yourself, not just the weight, but the overall size and no handles. I actually like the flat top as a shelf for bulky items.

I have no idea....what would that sell for new? A great find!

Well, considering they are about 20 years old...... The price paid was in the fair region for the condition.

I looked at your reply about the "secret compartment" and will post the pics. That is pretty cool. I do have to say....Snap-On makes use of wasted areas normally found on most boxes. I like the "secret compartment".

In reality I question how practical the "secret compartment" really is. If you have just the bottom it prevents you from putting a nice piece of butcher block or the like on top. Additionally I find that the space in front of a non full depth top box can easily become a catchall. I do like the flat top vs top compartment till for manuals and bulky items, but would rather the top box be full depth. That would gain ~6x the storage space compared to what the secret compartment offers.

Just my 2¢ :dunno:

Depending on how far north you are, I search Albany Craigslist, as it's much closer than the Burlington and Montpellier ads....I'm in Bennington. Congrats on your find.

I am on both VT and QC. You might have luck looking on kijiji.ca for the Montreal region or lespac.com

If you find something send me a PM and I can bring it to VT for you. I am near North Hero but regularly down in Burlington.
