I recently saw a GJ member with one of these tables... and without a dedicated bandsaw I decided that I needed it. Came in today...had to get out there in the shop and see what I could do with it.

While I could have kept it a table top piece of equipment this old metal table base needed a use....SOooooo :headscrat

I needed a thick plate to mount the unit on and it to the table base. All I had was a piece of 1/8in aluminum...so I cut a 3/4in thick piece of plywood to thicken it all up. Fitted it all together and was very happy with the results. I'm pleased that the foot pedal will sit atop the base... I'm planning on adding some tabs with my mig to hold that foot pedal in position. Also some chord management is needed. Finally, the top has a slot to allow the use of a miter gage....I will build something to mount/hang it on the side or something. What else ya'll think I should build on it???

I didn't mention much about the foot pedal...my only disappointment...Had hoped it would have been a metal unit but it's all plastic...probably should have researched it better but I must have been 'blinded' in the heat of shopping for equipment. lol

Nice!

I don't have the base but I do have a DeWalt portaband and I love it. The stock blade ain't much so get a good blade for it...I like the Morse 811 blades

I'll look into Morse...I had bought a few Milwaukee blades at one time and are using them at the moment. Thanks for the comment and recommendation.
