looks good. I tried doing the same on a walking stick but it wasn't as good as that...I think they are called hitches, I had a book I picked up at a yard sale on how to make all those different knots, hitches, etc...not as easy as it looks...good job I say.

I like the idea and certainly the look, however I would be afraid the hammer handle would tend to slide right out of the paracord... but maybe it doesn't?

You could notch the handle so the paracord sits flush or slightly above the wood.
Shoot! Why didn't I think of that!
I ended up doing my walking stick with surplus leather strips.
If you're willing to drill holes in your handle, the Atwood style is the cleanest and nicest.
