Many of you know about the high quality bit ratchets re-branded for VIM Tools... The HBR5 which is nearly identical to the retired Husky Pro 66604, the HBR4, and the HBR3. These are made in Taiwan by HI-FIVE/NewTools.com

I have the smallest one: the VIM Tools HBR3 which is 3-1/2" long. I then took a 1" long 1/4" hex to 1/4" square drive adapter and worked it down to 3/4" long to fit snugly in the ratcheting end. Now I have the world's most compact 1/4" drive ratchet. Super handy and small enough to comfortably carry in your pocket for EDC.

My hbr3 and husky ones have been life savers. Bosch Has one you'd probably like in a $20 set at Walmart of all places. It has a 12pt box instead of a 6pt like the vim has is the only real difference I think. Better than an open end for sure though. I love being able to break something loose with the non-ratcheting end and continue with the ratcheting side. I keep such a setup in my EDC backpack for light duty stuff. Love these tiny bit ratchets

I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the tip!

I bought the Kobalt right angle driver set that includes a ratchet patterned after the original Husky Pro 66604. It is 12-point, but uses magnets on the back to retain the bits. A little bulky, doesn't hold the bit as securely, and doesn't have the "quick disk" for hand spinning. I bought it for $10 for the bits, sockets, and case. I will eventually replace the ratchet with the HBR5 as an upgrade. You get a pretty good value of Taiwan-made bits and sockets (SAE and Metric) when you get them for $10.
