The dizzying combination of Craftsman Block grinders is amazing.

Here's yet another example - 3/4-HP, 8" wheels, 5/8" arbor, 'Commercial', 'HD' quench-tray/base/tool rest, BUT single voltage - 115 V (6.0 Amps), split-phase.

I have to keep them straight some how, or I'll loose track of my retirement projects.

It is fair to say that I am like the person who sees a stray (fill in your choice, ie: cat, dog, bird, ...) in need of rescuing, and brings it home. Then 1 day, looks around and they've taken over.

In my case, thank God they don't reproduce on their own; never mind what Mrs. Torqueman will say.

Nope I don't feel any better; so much for confession!

I was minding my own business, making a list of To Dos, when this guy popped up. Only 31 mins. since listing.

On a CM stand ...... with a HD quench tray/base/tool rest ...... for $50 !!

What could I do? I had to call, I had to go, I had to take it, I had to give him $60 because he just didn't know [he was going to keep the Wards PowerCraft on the bench, he didn't see a reason for another grinder]. OK, I'm a nice guy, but I'm not stupid; I didn't tell him he was selling the good stuff.

It's in good company now. That's Go Blue! 1-HP and 3/4-HP behind it.

Doc,

Congrats on the new find. I remember Go Blue being a bit of a mystery due to the missing label. Does this new one help solve the Go Blue mystery?

Nice score!

I find it interesting that my 1/2 HP pre-block has more amperage (7.0 amps) than the 1 HP blocks you have listed. Craftsman was wacky.

Hi fellow Block aficionados. My replies are in Blue.
Doc,

Congrats on the new find. I remember Go Blue being a bit of a mystery due to the missing label. Does this new one help solve the Go Blue mystery?
Thanks McB. While this guy is on a HD tray/tool rest, it has a different power switch, and is a single voltage grinder. And thus, it helps eliminate one more contender.

Nice score!
Thanks dragon.

I like our pre-blocks. They do feel more powerful than their HP rating on the label. Perhaps a measurement standard change?

He shoots, he SCORES, yet again! Nice!

Dave
Thanks Dave, I'll drink to that!

Doc: is that the list of all Block grinders from GJ and the other forums or just the ones you've had in your hands? :D
drives - Hard to believe 1 person could have so many, pass through his hands, but yes.

dan - Thank you. It's not an obsession, it's a calling.

I know how black holes work.

But I think there is another phenomenon that ***** all available blocks to your house.
