Does anyone still make tappet wrenches?

Yup, you can still get them. I have a 15/16 from my old days installing shocks on semis.

There is no shortage of tappet wrenches in the second-hand market. You can find them on Ebay made by Indestro, Duro Chrome, Herbrand, Craftsman, and other US manufacturers.
There should be no problem finding them in SAE sizes. Metric might be a completely different story - I've never looked.
I just posted a link a page or two back for a 3/4" x 7/8" Indestro - new NOS - selling for about $12 bucks including shipping. That one is high end on price; you should be able to score them for about $8 - $10 bucks a pop if you are diligent watching the ads. (I got a set of mixed like new Duro Chrome and Indestro a few months back for about $30 incl. shipping - about $5 bucks a pop delivered.)

(They pretty much all used the same part numbering system: T1, T2, T3, etc. Craftsman just used #1, #2, #3, etc. - just for reference for purposes of using the "search" function on Ebay.)

My dad gave me a nice set of SAE Mac tappet wrenches. I'll probably only use them once every decade so I wire tied them together and put them in the back of the wrench drawer to save space haha.

^ yes, also made by Facom, although I am not seeing any metric models listed right now on Ebay.
just picked through the listings and I think these are the best being offered at this moment (scroll down a bit):

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5701939#post5701939

there are some Facom SAE sets listed but they're a little pricey (in comparison to those I posted in the 'hot deal' thread.)

Too good of a deal to pass up, in my opinion. I had to buy it.

$1000 off list price AND free stainless steel top.

Definitely not new but new to me, needed this for a taco cart I've been restoring. Not in bad shape seems some put a coat of clear over it but it'll work and it's the missing piece. bccd499ba37827f61a1a357fa312f647.jpg

^ The early production Craftsman tappet wrenches are very nice. The newer ones are Chinese-made, unfortunately.

Yesterday (or day before?) I posted a list of them in the "Ebay hot deal" thread - when I posted them there was a full set of the older Craftsmans listed.

A few more tools that I don't have pics of but it's definitely getting pretty crowded in there...

10" craftsman Cobras. My 7" knipex Cobras needed a friend.

That's funny, I literally just bought a set of the 45430 on ebay 2 minutes ago. I'm giving them as a birthday gift to a friend of mine. I got em for $30 on ebay, seemed cheaper than anywhere else. Couple bucks cheaper than the Knipex version.

I already own a pair, use them for my sideline contracting job, no one on my crew has ever seen them before but they are all hooked. Haha

I had a $10 off $20 or more surprise points at Sears so I walked out the door for $21. I didn't NEED them but for that price I couldn't pass them up.

They sure are handy though. I use them basically as a small size pipe wrench, at which they excel. I only have 2 other Knipex products, the 10" diagonal cutters and the standard cobolt, both of which are frickin awesome.

Busy few days for me....

These GearWrench clip removal tools were on the Snap-On truck on special. I have wanted them for a while, but just now got around to getting them. I actually needed them this morning.

I have not used them yet, but I can think of a few thousand times in the past I cure could have. I am looking forward to trying these especially.

I was thinking about getting something like that, or a 6" slip joint, or a multitool to carry around at work

Here are some purchases from the last month:

Toptul Metric Flare Nut Wrenches (from Dennis Schmidt's eBay store)

The package included 6pt wrenches in the following sizes: 8x9, 10x12 and 11x13mm. Here is a picture of a 6pt flare nut wrench:

The package also included 12 pt wrenches in the following sizes: 14x17, 16x18, 17x19mm, 22x24, and 24x 27mm. Here is a picture of a 12pt flare nut wrench:

.

Toptul 4.5 and 5.5mm Shallow and Deep Socket Set

I also purchased from Dennis a Toptul 4.5 and 5.5mm shallow and deep socket set. Here is a picture of them:

.

Toptul Parrot Nose Locking Pliers

Lastly, I purchased from him a Toptul parrot nose locking pliers. They can be used to remove stripped fasteners or loosen pipe. Here are some pictures of these pliers:

.

Norton Sharpening Stone

I visited my local industrial tool supply store and made a couple purchases. One of them was this dual sided sharpening stone. One side is coarse and the other is fine. I plan on using it to sharpen knives and clean up burrs on metal projects. Here are some pictures of this stone:

.

General Tools Protractor (made in Taiwan)

This was the second purchase I made at the industrial supplier. I used a similar angle protractor and stone at a local community college's CNC machining program that I decided to purchase my own. Here is a picture of the protractor:

.

Carlyle 12 Piece Long Torx Bit Socket Set

NAPA started offering on its website twice a month 10% off on its Carlyle hand tools. I decided to take advantage of it with this set. This set has been on my wish list for a while. Here are a couple picture of it:

.

Carlyle Oil Drain Plug Socket Set

This set is currently on sale in the Real Deals Catalog for $69.99. One of the plug sockets will come in handy for removing the female rear differential bolt to drain the fluid on my 2003 Subaru Forester. Here are a couple pictures of the set:

.

Home Depot Purchases

Since the 100 tooth, long handle Husky ratchet came out last Thanksgiving, I've wanted one. The negatives of the ratchets are that it is made in China and the black paint is thin. The positives are that it produces 9 to 10 fine clicks in its display holder and its head is thin. Its $24.99 price is very competitive for its build quality and feature set. Here are a couple pictures of this ratchet:

.

I saw in the clearance section this Norton honing oil for half price. It was initially $9.**. It's clearance price was $4.06. I grabbed the last one. Here is a picture of it:
