For the past 8 months I have been following along on this site in order to choose the garage flooring that best suited my situation.

Armstrong VCT seemed the ideal fit. My main concern was the staining of tiles where rubber meets flooring. Therefore my design incorporates two 6' X 12' patches using a darker colour of tile. I'm hoping that this will hide the inevitable brown stains. Our two Miatas fit nicely within this area.

looks great! Your floor is changing my mind from racedeck to vct. The darker landing strips work with the rest of the garage.

You live in BC. Will the vct handle a cold winter?

I sure hope so. Traditionally we get mild and short winters here in the vallley. The Armstrong Rep. claims that there are many VCT shod garages around the area and all are coping quite well.

Mine is about 550 sq. feet and well insulated with a great deal of southern exposure. Since the install the weather has been in the 40 C (100+ F) range. I was more concerned about my new floor melting, LOL. :FIREdevil

Love the '96. All you need to complete it is a Track Dog Racing intercooler...I highly recommend it.

Man that looks great you are chaning my mind about the typical checkered flags look. I love the darker area for vehicles. What colors did you use?

When you say Armstrong rep, did you call Armstrong directly or did you work with a flooring dealer?

Glenn, I dealt with a local flooring company for the small stuff like primer, adhesive, transition strips and tool rental. They were most helpful.

I purchased my tiles from big box stores, due mainly to the availability and price. The colours I used were classic black and sterling.

I went to my local flooring dealer to buy some more Armstrong polish and was told that they will no longer be able to get the gloss finish. Apparently Armstrong isn't manufacturing it anymore. Only a satin finish will now be available.

Have any of our American pals had trouble obtaining the gloss floor polish or is this just another "Canadian" delete?
