I got a 3/4" drive H51 apart and noticed its a bit more complicated than the 3/8 and 1/2" versions.
Hopefully this thread can serve as a reference for someone in the future...

Thanks. Its got a tight spring so I'm not worried using grease to lube it up.
Here's the bunch together. The 1/4 versions are a pain so Ill take that one apart another day.:D

What I've found tricky with those Williams rats is the buried pin that moves the pawl. It's gotta be removed from the top before the selector knob can be unscrewed. If there's old/dirty grease, one can easily overlook that pin.

Yea, I've bought a couple now that had busted pins. One was in 3 pieces. The ratchet actually worked but would only change directions when it felt like it.
I can imagine some poor chap fussing over it. Couldn't fix it, couldn't get it apart. Several users here on gj have had problems.
I got lucky and could push the pawl till the hole in the side was expose then I pulled out the pin pieces with a magnet.
