I have tried to do my research on this topic, just need a little help.

Working on finishing up a 30x40x12 shop, with a 4:1 roof pitch. I would like to keep the lights tight to the ceiling but not sure if this is a good idea.

The building is insulated, back side of the insulation is white.

There is a 10x10 and an 11x11 sectional door in the front of the building (30's ide). This will block some of the light when one or both doors are open.

I used the Visual Interior Tool and it recommended 25 - 4' fixtures for 85fc, however, this was with all fixtures mounted at 12' (I think). I did read where a 4' strip fixture is not the best selection when mounting over twelve feet. Would these fixtures be a good option? https://www.lightup.com/2ft-led-lin...m_medium=retargeting&utm_campaign=lowerfunnel

This shop will be used for mechanic work and light metal fabrication. Any help is appreciated.

There is also a 15x40 lean-to that will be added to one side of the shop, any recommendations for outdoor fixtures?

I wouldn't trust surface mounting these fixtures directly against plastic or anything flammable for that matter. A metal ceiling is fine, but that doesn't sound like your situation.

Qty.12 of the fixtures you linked to at 12ft mounting height 3x4 pattern = 80fc at 30" workplane.
11ft = 83fc
10ft = 86fc (minimum mounting height for this fixture's lumen output) disparity between high and low light areas increases as fixtures are lowered.

FYI: Another poster wanted to get surface mounting brackets for these and distributor LightUp was unable to help.
