Hi Guys.
I'm posting this as a favor to Carla, as she has difficulty dealing with pics.
Background:
Carla is in the process of letting go of some of her tools and related. Carla has posted for years periodically, a lot on the Vices threads, and always has well thought out commentary. If you have seen her posts, you know she knows what she's about on tools!
She worked most of her life in and out of machine shops and based on the completed work I've seen personally, she is meticulous about what she does., so any tool we post here that has been redone will reflect her workmanship.
Process: PM me and I'll relay to Carla, as she's not on line as much as I.
LOCATION: San Jose, CA. - Shipping is on the buyer to arrange/pay for.
Shipping update: for smaller items like the vises, Carla CAN arrange shipping. buyer pays shipping!
For larger items the buyer needs to arrange for a shipping or moving company to pick up and transport. (like the bench)
To start, she had two Vises available:
Vise #1 3" Athol 323 swivel base:
Sale Pending on the Athol!
3" jaws, rebuilt by Carla, and she added a thrust roller bearing to it during the rebuild. Jaws on this one are serrated. The pictures say the most: She is asking $200 for this gem:
Vise #2 3-1/2" AmpOGrip 190-D, swivel base, swivel jaws:
The second vise is interesting; She mentioned it was based on the Athol model, and I believe it (compare the pics, to he above!)
3-1/2" jaws, with the swivel static jaw. SMOOTH jaws on this one. Rebuilt by Carla, and she again added a thrust roller bearing to it during the rebuild. The pictures say the most: She is asking $200 for this gem:
Getting away from tools, she wants to sell this Slant top Standing desk:
Apologies for the pics on this one, lots going on in her life, so limited access.
Size: 6 ft long, about 36" high on the front edge, about 36" deep.
It's slant is about what the average drafting table is setup for but it is not a drafting table (could be used as one). It's height, is good for working at if standing or I suppose a drafting or bar stool could be used with it.
Solid Oak, I believe quartersawn. Three drawers, dovetailed fronts (at least)
She's asking $200.
