"Procrastination is the thief of time"
The deadline is today for submitting your claim, either online, or postmarked today.
I just uploaded my receipts online, and requested the 30% of "You saved..." shown for receipts during the timeframe allowed. When I checked my receipts by date, I saw that a few were later than the Dec. 15, 2016 deadline. That's OK, I still will be receiving over $220 which will just go to buying...more-HFT tools! I wish they had an aluminum-capable welder, I haven't seen one listed. Maybe I'll kick-in some $ and buy the plasma cutter, it looks decent.
I save my receipts, I probably don't need to, but I had a bunch of HFT receipts to scan. I don't currently have a scanner I had a H-P combo printer, but it met with a 'shoe-nuff' problem (below).
I got fed-up with my Hewlett Packard printer x 3 when it started giving me a 'won't go-away' pop-up-window that I could never eliminate after spending hours trying to download a new updated driver, trying multiple things suggested online in various places, and damned if I was going to take it to a shop where they charge me $100 to tell me, "buy another one." So I introduced it to my size 11 in the driveway for wasting my time, and not continuing to work in a home capacity after a couple of years of infrequent use. I wasn't sure I exorcised the demon electrons, so I gave it another couple stomps before I swept it up with my wide aluminum dustpan and deposited it into the garbage. That 'shoe-nuff' got rid of the uncooperative piece of planned-obsolescence gadgetry. I've been reading the ads for Staples, Office Max, target, and the membership clubs, they all seem to have almost identical prices. Office Max is having a 30% off sale for teachers coming up in about a week, so I'm counting on a healthy discount then, as I'm eligible. I've been reading about the Canons, they have good features and are not as-expensive as others for ink. I'm gonna get something, but in the meantime, I had our son scan all my receipts through his scanner, and I made an excel spreadsheet cross-referencing the receipts by date and amount. So, all should be good, I got my confirmation of claim form submittal, enumerating all my jpeg electronic receipts.
It's time to sit back and wait. Between my radial arm saw rebate from Emerson Electric, and this, well, I'm in high cotton! Nothin' bettern' makin' tools pay for themselves!![]()
http://www.nationalsalepricesettlement.com/faqso does anyone know the date that they are supposed to announce if this settlement got awarded and we are all getting paid?
Motion for permission to appear pro hac vice, certificate of service, filed. Christopher Bandas Attorney: PRO SE ()
Latin for "this time only," the phrase refers to the application of an out-of-state lawyer to appear in court for a particular trial, even though he/she is not licensed to practice in the state where the trial is being held. The application is usually granted, but sometimes the court requires association with a local attorney.
I haven't heard anything or received anything yet. I didn't even receive acknowledgement that they received the receipts that I submitted....but didn't really expect to.
I'm not a lawyer. I went to http://phoenix.lakecountyohio.gov/eservices/home.page.15. A search for case number 15CV000598 turned up no results. But a search for harbor freight under company name did yield results.
There's an update posted on the lawsuit website. May see checks in January/Feb if I am reading the order properly. Attorney fees look to be $10,000,000....heck of a pay day for them. Primary person who started the suit gets $10,000.
I'll be curious to see if prices uptick or if this is just a small drop from the HF bottom line.
reading the final settlement order. #5 lists the settlement amounts.
a - class members
b - attorney fees
c - administration
d - incentives
total to not exceed 33 million.
b is 10 mil, c is 3 mil, d is 10,000. so, about 20 million will go to class members.
the timeframe is "after appeals, if any, have been resolved." Looking at the court's docketing system, six appeals have been filed. I didn't check to see if these are filed by HF or class attorneys. Most likely, they're filed by people/attorneys outside the class objecting to the settlement and they get disposed of quickly. this is all to say, it will likely be a few months more rather than january.

From the lawsuit website:
"UPDATE:
On November 3, 2017, the Court granted final approval of the settlement in its Settlement Order and Final Judgment. Please be patient. Payments to eligible Class members who did not opt out and who sent in valid and timely Claim Forms will be mailed in most instances approximately 1-2 months after appeals from the Settlement Order and Final Judgment, if any, have been resolved."
Six appeals filed by settlement objectors against the Settlement Order and Final Judgment have now been resolved. Disbursements to eligible Class members who did not opt out and who submitted valid and timely Claim Forms in most instances will be mailed within approximately 1-3 months.
Yay! Thanks trekgod. I just checked for updates a couple days ago and didn't have any at that time.
So, I got my check in the mail today.
Holy ****!
