I just got this machine home. Was 150 miles away. Weighs 6000 pounds, CAT40 spindle taper, oiler, coolant, Baldor DC servos, 7.5 HP spindle. I think it’s a perfect candidate for control retrofit and will be a great first cnc mill for my shop. Seller needed it out of his shop. I got it for scrap value or a little under.

"Old" vs "New" Dewalt socket set.

As a Sunday mechanic I was satisfied with old set I bought few years ago, mostly at that time I wanted to have full deep sockets lines.

Yeah ratchets are a bit to heavy/bulky, sockets are laser marked ...

Here come my new version of the same kit.

Cool, rachets are a bit liter, more slim, sockets have now size stamped.

Cool for Sunday fun !

I've had good luck with the old ones at work. Picked up a new set black friday and put them in my new truck, but haven't need one yet. They seemed nice as always, especially for the money.

I did notice the rats were a bit slimmer.

Some new goods. New caliper pad spreader. Opens wider and can close further. Just flip the threaded plate on the one side.

Compared vs the lang version

New Milwaukee head lamp (bright and long lasting compared to all others)

Low pro 1/4 metric set , works with any 11mm or 1/4 drive

Metric crowsfoot fitting style set

Cordless testlight for backup since green is no longer available. It's a limited color run .

Also got a new stubby flex 3/8 and my favorite style head ratchet (swivel flex) hard handle for the shops box or gift to my bro in law who lost his cheap one . 94e1877978213c0c26df39e1ee504597.jpg6caefe223ae2f94f9417a903870e4117.jpgfec86a8d941046ee02a9fdd8a4a5cea6.jpg73ea791cc3cc40c2e75f3a4b694c5ce1.jpge3b556eeca2b25f8c22ddf92e429980d.jpg05b54a21527c5f8402b6bffe18a557a8.jpg94812ffcc63b0acea2ed06a4f24f0bb3.jpg

Was asking cause family member ordered from frankstools and they haven’t come yet.

Oh, you might want to tell your family member to email them. I initially ordered the KTCs from frankstools also. That was on 11/22. I had to email them 3 times before I finally got a response. And all the he replied was simply they were out of stock. He did issue a refund that day which was Dec 6 but the refund was sent as an echeck through Paypal. The refund was declined once by their bank & I have yet to receive my refund (still pending). I will never try to order anything from that guy again.

Where did you order them from?

I ordered them off of eBay. I ordered them in the middle of November and they just showed up yesterday. They literally arrived via the "slow boat".:lol_hitti

They do look to be a nice quality pair of pliers though, although I haven't yet tried them out.

Not mine but brother saw this new angle grinder with circular saw blade on. Must be new to market, hadn’t seen one:).

That shaper looks like fun! Make ? Model?

It's a one-off unit built in the late 40's by a guy who had designed and patented a stroke-adjusting mechanism that allows the stroke to be adjusted while the machine is running.
Stroke and side travel are both around 6".
I have all of the engineering drawings, patent information and correspondence between the designer and several companies he was trying to sell the patent to.
I think the idea was a little late in coming as shapers were pretty much on their way out by then.
It's a cool little machine, I've been known to fire it up just to watch it run. Very relaxing for some reason.

My son made a similar cutter to that few weeks ago to cut a PVC pipe from inside the pipe that was a few inches below cement floor to install flange at floor surface

They checked and they had an email saying cancelled. Never order from there again either.

Do you know if they got a refund (like actually receive their funds)?

I got a notice from paypal this morning saying the refund was declined again & the transaction has now been cancelled. I opened up a paypal claim. What kind of business has a refund get declined by their own bank, that's BS. I understand the dude's probaby just some guy trying to make some money but that's no way to run a business.

Nice, but a little too specialized IMO. I just used a pair of hose pliers to loosen a connector and they work fine also.

I've been using my old Matco hose pliers but I'm adamant about using the correct tool for the job and I've been eyeing these ever since I saw them so I finally pulled the trigger. To each their own.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, then everything looks like a nail.:lol_hitti

Not making excuses for him but I've had two unrelated ebay payments over the last couple months get declined in a similar manner. Not sure whats going on with that payment method but it may not be him. Its ridiculous that its far slower than a physical check mailed with a stamp. Similarly im sure he's trying to bypass the new PP rule that keeps your fees in a refund. For a small store operating on thin margins that's going to sting.

Yup. That's what I needed it for as well.
Now that I have the prototype, I'll make any additional sizes I may need.
Just hope I don't need any additional sizes!

Just getting into woodworking and picked these up this week. With a small shop and limited funds, I’m trying to keep things on the inexpensive and portable side. I’ll see how far the band saw gets me. Reviews were good and the trial run went well. Will get the sander unpacked and set up this weekend.

Had no idea these things existed. Adapters for increasing drive size but in low profile. Then again I haven't looked for adapters in a long time. Didn't need the 1/2" to 3/4" but whatevers, came as a set & were cheap. I liked them so much I ordered a second set. Hope they hold up fine, made in Taiwan.

Since I picked up a 3/8th impact at the Acme tool sale a few weeks ago, I used that as an excuse to pick up some Proto 3/8th metric impact sockets:

20191218-203648.jpg

I have to order another Westling Machine socket tray for them.
