As the title says, this adjustable wrench is marked Diamond D.
It’s an 8” wrench. Drop Forged Steel.
The opposite side reads Dunbar Drop Forge Co, Chicago USA.
I was unfamiliar with this wrench and company. Just happened to find it at a sale the other day, and knew it wasn’t the Diamond brand we all know and love. The logo is pretty neat as well.
From Google searching, there are some old publications listing the company:
-1921 issue of The Iron Age, shows a company address of 2500 W. 21st Street Chicago, Ill.
-1922 The Automobile Trade Directory lists 2506 W. 31st Street.
-1921 and 1922 editions of Forging-Heat Treating, list several people from Dunbar Drop Forge Co. who attended a drop forge convention in Chicago.
-This is cool. 1921 Gazette of the US Patent Office shows the D inside a diamond logo, filed 1919. Claiming first used in 1918.

-1922 listed in US Patent Office Index Of Patents for ferrous and nonferrous metal castings and forgings.
-1922 lawsuit against the company. Interesting.
