M12 1/2 drive subby plus free 2.0 battery $179. Does this work in store for a battery return or is this one online only?

Easiest way is to add to cart and then view the cart.

Do you see one item or more than one? If there is only one item in cart but you see both items as in the attached. At MOST HDs you will not be able to return just one of the items.

Some have reported being able to return just one but it's against store policy and has to be approved by a manager so YMMV.Screenshot_20201112-155233_Home Depot.jpg

Sometimes those promos are available in store as individual items and ring up as promo and you can return the battery even though online it is shown as 1 item. That is what I was wondering about. Will it ring up in store? If it does, we could return the battery.

As a reminder on how to calculate the return value for in-store purchases:

Add up:
(original price of "must buy" item) + (original price of "free" item) = (big number)

Now find the ratio or percentage:
(original price of "must buy" item) / (big number) = (ratio)

Return value for each is:
(ratio) x (original price of "must buy" item)
(ratio) x (original price of "free" item)

From my purchase:
$199 + $159 = $358

$199 / $358 = 0.5559

0.5559 x $199 = $110.62
0.5559 x $159 = $88.38 M18 Fuel Blower

Good job man. Thanks for the info.

Don’t be discouraged though when the next 8 posts are still people asking “what’s the return value of the _____” and “can the batteries be returned for a discount”???

Are the 6.0 battery packs always better than the 4.0?

I bought the 2 4.0 and router from HD and see the ohiopowertools has the same deal with 2 6.0 batteries instead for essentially the same price. However it's unknown how long it will take to receive from ohiopowertools..

So should I return the ones I got from HD and buy from Ohio? Is the extra power worth the bulk and weight of the 6.0 for the router? I know it's better batteries but Im worried about making the tool too uncomfortable to use (or is it negligible?) What's your preferred battery size for the router?

The 6.0 batteries are the same size as the 8.0 batteries, so they don’t excite me. I have bought several promos with a pair of the 6.0, but I always end up selling them off rather than keeping them. The 4.0 are roughly the same size as the 5.0, which is a better size for many tools and lights than the 6.0/8.0.

Thinking about upgrading to a better impact. Seems like the mid range 1/2" midrange Fuel would be a good option, but I don't see any decent deals on it. Am I missing something?

Would the mid-range non-fuel be a good alternative? I'm considering the HD BF 12/18 combo

How do the Ridgid tools compare to Milwaukee? They claim higher torque and a better value but I am skeptical. I like the lifetime service plan on the Ridgid but suspect the Milwaukee tools are better.

Thanks.

Only in rare circumstances do I choose a non fuel tool when a fuel is available. The M12 1/4” ratchet and the M12 screwdriver are two examples of where I prefer the non fuel for specific uses. I wouldn’t want that non fuel impact. When the M18 stubby mid torque hits the street there should be deals on the old Fuel version.

I didn’t realize it was available for order.

Hi Guys,

The M18 088-20 wet dry vacuum is on sale with the current promo, however, it is not the newest M18 fuel packout wet/dry vacuum. How much is the fuel wet/dry m18 vacuum when it goes on sale? I am considering waiting, however, I may just buy the original M18 vacuum since it is on sale currently when returning the M18 starter kit. Thank You.

Disregard* You can not select the vacuum as the free tool on Home Depots website even though it is listed as one of the options. It looks like it is unavailable now.

The M18 Fuel Packout Vac has been out for less than a month. To my knowledge, it hasn't gone lower than full retail yet.

Acme Tools has a really good promo for a free packout dolly or tote when you buy 3 items. I figured I'd try one of the crates and two of the ammo cans. Added a M12 rover light (pre-order) to get over $199 for free shipping.

Add the items to your cart, then go to cart, and there is a button to select the free item.

Does not work with the coupon code "MILWAUKEEGIFT" which is good for other items.

MILWAUKEEGIFT Discount Details:
Purchase $100 of select Milwaukee Tools and Accessories and save $10, spend $150+ and save $20, or spend $200+ and save $30 when you use code MILWAUKEEGIFT during checkout. Qualifying orders will receive discount. Expires November 17, 2020 11:59pm EST or while supplies last.

quick question if you guys will permit it

ratchet boot

wrench boot

are these 'one size fits all' doesn't matter what size anvil on the tool?

Anvil doesn't have so much to do with it. Some boots go on different tools, like the M12 ⅜" & ½" stubbies take the same boot, I think it's those 2. Anyway, it matters the model more. So that 2557 boot you linked to, will only properly fit the 2557 ratchet.

This is one item, you can go "high-end" and get the snap on equivalents, at like ⅕ thebprice. I don't have links readily available, but the ratchet boot is like $6 delivered from SnapOn

You can get the M18 Search Light for $79 right now if you look around.

I just bought one the other day, and it should be here to play around with on Friday.

I got lucky and grabbed one of those for $49 a few years ago on the closeout aisle at HD. Seems like a pretty nice light

I think, in the end, it will be a good purchase and a good value. Obviously better at the price you paid, but this isn't so bad.

If all's well, I'll pick up some other options for M12. Already got their utility light with the built-in charger. I'd like to fill out cordless lighting.

This makes much more sense than just burning through my more conventional flashlights right out of the gate when they're needed. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts with that 9.0 attached.

Putting up XMAS lights yesterday for the first time at our house, and because we have gutter guards clips really don't work. Well, we do have cedar siding so I decided the lights would get stapled on.

Milwaukee to the rescue with the M12 Crown Stapler. On sale for 84.99 w/ a free battery.

https://www.farmandfleet.com/products/1054071-milwaukee-2447-20-m12-12v-lithium-ion-crown-stapler-bare-tool.html

I recently used mine for the first time, it is awesome. I remanufactured a furniture dolly into and engine dolly for my motorcycle motor, used the stapler to tack the carpet back onto the edges after the modifications. That thing doesn't miss a beat!

The CP3.0 is the best battery for the heated gear for sure. I have 1 CP3.0 and that is all I use it for.

While I would normally say the 3.0 cp is best, if you have a larger pocketed jacket, any compact M18 does as well or better. It isn't really noticable, unlike the m12 XCs.

Anyone found a deal on the 1/2" high torque impact (2767-20)?

I've been watching it on Amazon and HD for months now and it seems $225 is as low as I've seen it...
